Myotonic dystrophy Type 1 (DM1) is a severe inherited neuromuscular disease and is the most prevalent form of muscular dystrophy in adults. Floating-Harbor syndrome (FLHS) is a rare genetic disease caused by mutations in the SRCAP gene. Here, we generated an induced pluripotent stem cell line from gingival fibroblasts of a male patient with a heterozygous mutation in exon 34 of the SRCAP gene (c.7330C > T, p.Arg2444*). MATERIALS AND METHODS: Cells obtained from a primary ACC of the base of tongue were cultivated in vitro and immortalized with h-TERT. Morphologic, cytogenetic and functional studies were performed.

Endogenous erythroid colony (EEC) syndrome comprise of three cardinal features, i.e. ectrodactyly, ectodermal dysplasia and cleft lip. EEC itself has three different forms. Ectrodactyly (absence of one or more digits) can be present with clefting in the proximal portion of hand or foot known as split hand foot malformation (SHFM) or lobster claw deformity. The authors present an assessment of bone structure condition in children with acute leukemia. The changes in the collagen molecule, amino acid composition of urine and proteins reparation processes were revealed. Calcium phosphate excretion in the patients urine were increased. The serum osteocalcin level and colony formation efficiency of bone marrow fibroblasts in acute leukemia patients are lower than in control group. In the initial period of the disease 32% of patients have disturbancies in their endocrine status. The bone structure violation is combined with unfavorable disease outcome.

The biosynthesis of chondroitinase and hyaluronidase by different isolates of Paracoccidioides brasiliensis was investigated in 20 strains isolated from patients (17 strains), a penguin (Pygocelis adeliae, one strain), an armadillo (Dasypus novemcinctus, one strain) and the environment (dog food, one strain). We designed a new selective agar (Burkholderia pseudomallei selective agar [BPSA]) to improve recovery of the more easily inhibited strains of B. pseudomallei.
