Olecranon bursitis is a common clinical problem. It is often managed conservatively because of the high rates of wound complications with the conventional open surgical technique. Conventional olecranon bursoscopy utilizes an arthroscope and an arthroscopic shaver, removing the bursa from inside-out. We describe an extrabursal endoscopic technique where the bursa is not entered but excised in its entirety under endoscopic vision. A satisfactory view is obtained with less morbidity than the open method, while still avoiding a wound over the sensitive point of the olecranon.

We evaluated fourteen patients who had restricted supination as a major impairment related with a malunited radius fracture. All patients underwent an opening wedge corrective osteotomy, bone grafting, and volar plate fixation. Clinical results were assessed based on range of motion, visual analogue scale for pain, grip power, and a Modified Mayo Wrist Score. HYPOTHESIS: Nonunion of the medial epicondyle can cause symptoms of pain and instability in certain high-demand individuals. Problems with open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) have led some to recommend excision of the nonunited fragment, followed by soft tissue repair. Although elbow dislocations are common orthopaedic lesions, vascular complications remain rare. We report the cases of three patients who presented with a rupture of the brachial artery after closed posterior dislocation, which is even more uncommon. Osteochondral injuries are common, mainly affecting a young, active population. Failure to recognize these injuries can lead to long-term disability. A heightened awareness and understanding of the common mechanisms of injury will lead to early diagnosis and rapid recovery. This, along with improved treatment modalities, will keep any long-term disability to a minimum.

We report four sibs with an MCA/MR syndrome whose parents were first cousins. The sibs had mental retardation, microcephaly, hearing problems, cataract, and multiple osseous malformations, such as dislocated elbows, bowed tibiae, and scoliosis. Lateral epicondylitis is the most common source of elbow pain. Surgical treatment is easy but precise etiology remains uncertain. We reviewed 17 medical files of surgically treated lateral epicondylitis. Chondral lesions of the radial head were systematically looked for. Thirty-seven children with fresh, displaced (more than 2 mm in any direction) fractures of the lateral condyle of the humerus were treated by open reduction and internal fixation with a partially threaded 4.0-mm diameter AO lag screw.
