This study examined the accuracy of clinical chart diagnoses of manic episodes in adolescent psychiatric patients, as well as treatment selection and patient outcome. A consecutive sample of 120 consenting adolescent patients was assessed at admission, discharge, and 30 and 120 days post-discharge. Clinical chart diagnoses were compared to research-quality diagnoses involving structured interview, chart review, and consensus. Whiplash injuries were studied prospectively in 151 patients. Patterns of injury and recovery were found not to depend on the type of accident. Clinical and radiological findings were correlated with the possible pathological bases for the symptoms and signs; some of these were found to be unlikely to be contributors to the clinical picture. In 1975, rational guidelines for management of the jaundiced newborn infant were introduced to the Mercy Maternity Hospital, Melbourne. The guidelines were produced as four charts, each chart covering a particular birthweight range. The charts have been used widely. A study of pregnancy outcome was performed using a 1982-1985 regional network database of 60,456 infants. The perinatal mortality rate was 15.6 deaths per 1,000 births (total, 942), while the antepartum, intrapartum and neonatal mortality rates were 5.3, 1.6 and 8.7, respectively. Sixty-two cases of brain abscess with congenital cyanotic heart disease are reviewed. A sharp peak in the age distribution was seen at 4 to 7 years of age. Of 62 cases, 38 (61.2%) had a tetralogy of Fallot, and six had a transposition of the great vessels. The majority of these abscesses were supratentorial and 76% of abscesses were found in the frontal, temporal, and parietal lobes. Multiple abscesses were present in 19.4% of cases. 43 patients over 60 years of age underwent an aortocoronary bypass operation between 1974 and 1977. The observation period after surgery ranged from 4 to 7 years. Seventeen clinical trials are identified that test the efficacy of various psychological treatments (behavioral, cognitive, group, marital, interpersonal) alone, in comparison with, and in combination with pharmacotherapy in homogeneous samples of depressed outpatients. STUDY DESIGN: Descriptive study.
OBJECTIVES: The National Spinal Cord/Column Injury Registry of Iran (NSCIR-IR) is a registry system to survey Traumatic Spinal Column/Spinal Cord Injuries (TSC/SCIs) patients and obtain the required data for quality-of-care assessment.
SETTING: Iran.
METHODS: In 2022, the pre-hospital, in-hospital, and post-hospital Quality of Care (QoC) of registered patients with TSC/SCIs in 8 referral hospitals in Iran were studied.
RESULTS: Based on the study reports, TSCI/SCIs and their complication management were highly influenced by the health system's performance.

This study assesses health outcomes across six widely varying delivery settings within one population sample, describing differences between actual and expected illness prevalences among children using each type of setting as a regular source. Illness measures are from independent clinical examinations of the children for anemia, acute and chronic ear problems, hearing loss and vision disorders.
