In this case report we describe the use of a 2-stage approach to treat severe recurrent vulvar lymphangiectasia in a patient with Noonan syndrome. First, 3 functional lymphatic vessels were identified and anastomosed to venules in an end-to-end fashion. Then, in a second surgical procedure, the vulvar lesions were resected as much as possible and the vulva was reconstructed. By the 12-month follow-up the patient had recovered well. A severe vasculopathy characterized by fibrotic occlusion of small veins and venules, associated with prominent capillary congestion, was consistent with pulmonary veno-occlusive disease (PVOD). This is the first case reported in which PVOD is the primary cause of pulmonary hypertension in MCTD.

In order to examine the causes of endometrial bleeding following IUD insertion, 22 samples of endometrium from women with an IUD in place for between 1-20 years or more and 10 cases of endometrium without an IUD and with normal menstrual cycles as controls were studied.
