In 40 patients suspected of having renal artery stenosis Doppler ultrasound and multiphase magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) was performed. In 18 cases digital subtraction angiography, which served as a reference method, was performed. The diagnostic value of venous digital subtraction angiography (VDSA) was evaluated in 168 consecutive patients with suspected or known atherosclerotic lesions of the internal carotid artery. Takayasu arteritis (TA) is a large vessel vasculitis that causes stenosis, occlusion, and sometimes the aneurysm of the aorta and its major branches.
