BACKGROUND: Anterior shoulder instability is associated with Hill-Sachs lesions (HSLs) in 40% to 90% of cases. When addressing anterior shoulder instability, unaddressed engaging or "off-track" HSL have a recurrence rate of 75%. Remplissage is a known technique to address recurrent instability in the setting of an engaging HSL. BACKGROUND: Osteochondral lesions of the knee are difficult to manage. Such lesions can be effectively treated with the matrix-induced autologous chondrocyte implantation (MACI) "sandwich" technique using autologous chondrocytes on porcine collagen membrane in conjuction with autologous cancellous bone grafting (ABG). Few studies have examined this technique to restore the osteochondral unit.
INDICATIONS: The MACI "Sandwich" procedure is indicated when osteochondral lesions are larger than 2 cm2 in size and deeper than 8 to 10 mm, with symptoms consistent with the location of the lesion.

INTRODUCTION: African American women (AA), particularly those living in the Southeastern USA, experience disproportionately high rates of HIV infection. Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is a highly effective HIV prevention tool that may circumvent barriers to traditional HIV prevention tools, such as condom use; however, very little is known about how to improve PrEP access and uptake among AA women who may benefit from PrEP use. This project aims to understand how to increase PrEP access among AA women in the rural Southern USA, which may ultimately affect HIV incidence in this population.

We investigated the effect of social inequalities on the uptake of human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination, combining data from a feasibility study conducted in 2007-2008 in 2817 secondary schoolgirls in two UK primary-care trusts, with census and child health records.
