Teacher Coaching and Consultation with Active Components for the Implementation of Social-Emotional Learning Programs in Basic Education: A Systematic Review with Thematic Synthesis.

BACKGROUND: Teacher coaching is a central driver of implementation science, yet no recent review has centered the active components of coaching and consultation, rather than social-emotional learning (SEL) programs themselves, as its primary object of synthesis. ("Basic education" is used throughout this manuscript as the English rendering of the Latin American usage of the term, corresponding to ISCED 2011 levels 0-2: early childhood, primary, and lower-secondary education; it does not include upper-secondary or tertiary education.) This mixed-methods systematic review with thematic synthesis…

Facilitators and barriers to implementing patient-reported outcomes in clinical oncology practice: a systematic review based on the consolidated framework for implementation research.

BackgroundIn clinical oncology practice, patient-reported outcomes (PROs) are essential for assessing the symptom burden, quality of life, and psychological status of patients. However, there remains a gap between the use of PROs in an oncologic setting and its implementation. Furthermore, numerous reviews in PRO implementation are often based on one particular technology, setting, or health condition, making it difficult to obtain a comprehensive and coherent summary of available evidence to help plan and undertake implementation. This systematic review aims to identify and integrate enablers

Implementing biomechanical analyses for indigenous athlete development: Lessons from applying the Knowledge-to-Action framework with a remote First Nation hockey team.

Biomechanical analyses can greatly enhance athlete development by enabling coaches to create tailored training programs for individual athletes and teams. Knowledge Translation (KT)-the process of developing and implementing research-facilitates the integration of these programs through community partnerships. This paper explores how KT of emerging sports science technologies can support Indigenous athletes and shares lessons from applying the Knowledge-to-Action (KTA) framework with coaches from a remote First Nation hockey team in northern Québec, Canada. Involving ten U18 male athletes and

Is it time for a paper mill blacklist?

Paper mills represent one of science's greatest threats to the integrity of the entire scientific enterprise because they have become entrenched in a culture of the commercialization and corruption of science's assets, whether these be authorships, data sets, entire papers, editorial positions, or influence during editorial processes to favor a culture of unfair publication practices. This journal, which has taken proactive and exemplary steps to deal with this plague of fakery, is no stranger to the workings of such academic criminality, as exemplified by a string of retractions resulting fro

Clear bagging workflow implementation for post-hematopoietic stem cell transplant vaccinations.

PURPOSE: To describe development and implementation of a "clear bagging" workflow to improve coordination of vaccinations after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) while maintaining clinic-based administration and reimbursement. SUMMARY: Vaccines administered during clinic visits are often billed through medical insurance using a buy-and-bill model, which can result in patient claim denials and subsequent institutional write-offs, particularly for Medicare beneficiaries. To address this, health systems have adopted alternative distribution models such as clear bagging, whereby an i

Implementation and outcomes of structured clinical guidance frameworks for people with chronic illnesses in out-of-hospital respite care settings: protocol for a scoping review.

INTRODUCTION: Chronic and life-limiting illnesses require coordinated care beyond hospital settings, with increasing emphasis on continuity of care in community and out-of-hospital environments. Respite care plays an important role in supporting both patients and caregivers; however, its delivery is often variable and lacks structured clinical guidance. While several frameworks exist to support chronic and palliative care, these have been primarily studied in broader care settings and have not been systematically examined within out-of-hospital respite care. This scoping review aims to map cli

Narrative and arts-based interventions in oncology supportive care: a narrative review of evidence and implications for bridging the distress screening-response gap.

Psychological distress is a core dimension of oncology care and has long been described as the "sixth vital sign". Although distress screening is widely recommended and increasingly embedded in oncology services, translation of screening results into structured supportive responses remains inconsistent. The aim of the study is to synthesize the literature on narrative and arts-based interventions in adult oncology supportive care and to examine how implementation science can clarify the persistent gap between distress screening and timely supportive action. This manuscript was developed as a t…

Feasibility and clinical and implementation effectiveness of an adapted early warning signs and symptoms intervention for the early detection of childhood cancer in Cameroon and Kenya: protocol for a quasi-experimental, hybrid type 2 implementation effectiveness study.

INTRODUCTION: Childhood cancer accounts for a significant proportion of global childhood mortality, especially in low-income and middle-income countries (LMICs). Unlike many adult malignancies, primary prevention of childhood cancers is not possible. Improving survival requires a two-pronged strategy: earlier diagnosis and effective treatment. Our study aims to establish the feasibility, clinical and implementation effectiveness of an adapted early warning signs and symptoms (EWSS) intervention in Cameroon and Kenya. It will equip healthcare workers, Ministry of Health (MOH) representatives an

Tracking the Asian tiger mosquito (Aedes albopictus) in Austria: benefits of combining expert-based monitoring with citizen science data.

BACKGROUND: The Asian tiger mosquito (Aedes albopictus) is an invasive species and a competent vector of numerous pathogens. Its establishment in Austria represents a growing public health concern, underscoring the need for effective surveillance strategies. In Austria, two complementary monitoring systems are implemented, an expert-based ovitrap monitoring programme and a citizen science-based monitoring approach. This study investigates whether combining structured expert monitoring with citizen science reporting provides measurable benefits and identifies which advantages are most relevant.

What makes partnerships work? Measuring agreement in participant beliefs regarding 'core' reasons for success.

Successful partnerships between people with different backgrounds and distinct beliefs are essential to solve 21st-century problems. We conducted 44 semi-structured interviews and 80 surveys with participants of academic-nonprofit partnerships. We used Plackett-Luce statistics and cultural consensus analysis to analyze respondent beliefs regarding partnership success. Respondents consistently placed a high value on a subset of 'core' reasons that academic-nonprofit partnerships succeed and exhibited higher-than-expected levels of agreement regarding the order of importance of these 'core' reas

Statewide Workforce Development Program to Improve Care for Individuals With Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), a frequently disabling disorder characterized by distressing thoughts and behaviors, often goes undetected, or individuals with this disorder do not receive evidence-based care. Educating clinicians and individuals with OCD and their families about OCD is a necessary first step to improving quality of care. This Open Forum describes the creation of a workforce development program named Improving Providers' Assessment, Care Delivery, and Treatment of OCD (IMPACT-OCD). This program used implementation science methods to engage stakeholders, assess practice de…

We need article reporting standards for quantitative research in sport and exercise science: an educational narrative review.

In recent decades, there has been a substantial increase in the number of published studies across numerous scientific disciplines, including the sport and exercise sciences. However, it has been argued that this increase in quantity has, unfortunately, been accompanied by concerns regarding the quality of study design, methodological transparency, and results reporting. To address these pitfalls, several scientific communities, including the American Psychological Association (APA) Journal Article Reporting Standard (JARS) Working Group and numerous biostatisticians, have developed checklists
