The present study describes method for autologous bone transplantation to an area of nonunion at the pelvic ring in a way that ensures the best possible bone-to-bone interface ("press-fit") and provides optimal preconditions for the ingrowth of the bone graft. We modified a technique that has been used to transplant press-fit bone-baseplate-cartilage cylinders for the repair of joint cartilage defects. Shwachman-Diamond syndrome (SDS) is a rare multisystem disorder characterized by exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, multilineage hematopoietic dysfunction, and metaphyseal chondrodysplasia. Neutropenia may occur in some of the primary immunodeficiency disorders. We reviewed the records of 56 neutropenic patients. The most common disorders were Shwachman-Diamond syndrome, cyclic neutropenia, Kostmann disease, Chediak-Higashi syndrome, hyper IgM syndromes, severe combined immunodeficiency, hyper IgE syndrome, and common variable immunodeficiency.

We formed two-dimensional pseudo-hexagonally ordered diamond-like carbon nano-threads by laser heating dense molecular benzene, the archetypal aromatic compound, to temperatures exceeding 1000 K at about 40 GPa in diamond anvil cells. This work focuses on the treatment of gaseous perchloroethylene (PCE) using electro-scrubbing with diamond electrodes and cobalt mediators. PCE was obtained by direct desorption from an aqueous solution containing 150 mg L-1, trying to a real pollution case. Cellular dormancy requires ribosomes to be reversibly silenced yet preserved. Gluc et al. identify Shwachman-Bodian-Diamond syndrome domain-containing hibernation factor (SNOR), a fission yeast hibernation factor induced specifically by perturbed glucose homeostasis. Rather than driving translational shutdown, SNOR maintains dormant ribosomes in a state competent for rapid reactivation.

In the present study, Trichomonas vaginalis was diagnosed in 28.8% male patients with urethral discharge and in 8.2% suffering from impotence and infertility. Diagnosis was based on examination of urethral discharge, urine, semen and prostatic massage fluid by wet mount, stained films and culture inoculation.
