Glomus tumors are tumors that arise from the glomus bodies, which can be found in sites of arteriovenous anastomosis. Glomus tumors can occur in all parts of the body but rarely occur in the trachea. The PET/CT findings of these tumors are similar to those of malignant tracheal tumors. We reported the PET/CT findings of a pathologically proven primary glomus tumor in the trachea of a 41-year-old man.

Ovarian cancer with solitary metastasis to the cerebellum is very rare. We presented a 58-year-old woman complaining of headaches 9 months after debulking surgery and chemotherapy due to ovarian cancer. The serum CA125 level was elevated. FDG PET/CT was then recommended to identify potential malignancy and showed a hypermetabolic mass in the right cerebellum. The cerebellar mass was surgically removed, and the pathology confirmed metastasis from ovarian cancer.

We present a case with an unexpected nodule in the thymus showing increased F-FDG uptake on PET/CT. The nodule was surgically removed. Histopathologic examination revealed granuloma in the thymus. This case indicates physicians and radiologists must be aware that although thymic granuloma is rare, it should be included in the differential diagnosis of the thymic lesions with F-FDG accumulation along with neoplastic and nonneoplastic conditions.

Primary leiomyosarcoma of the bronchus is an extremely rare malignant neoplasm. A 29-year-old man presented with persisting cough and sputum over 1 month. Unenhanced and contrast-enhanced chest CT showed a nodular lesion in the main bronchus of the left lower lobe and multiple enlarged lymph nodes in the mediastinum. Preoperative staging F-FDG PET/CT scan displayed a hypermetabolic lesion of the known nodule and mild FDG uptake of mediastinal lymph nodes. The histological examination confirmed bronchial leiomyosarcoma and reactive hyperplasia in lymph nodes.

A 55-year-old woman presented with intermittent fatigue and abdominal pain. Ultrasound and CT scan showed a large heterogeneous mass in the retroperitoneum, suggestive of malignancy. F-FDG PET/CT was performed for staging. PET/CT images showed a hypermetabolic retroperitoneal mass. Endoscopy revealed a mass infiltrating the duodenum. Eventually, the mass was pathologically proved to be malignant melanoma. Further extensive clinical, radiological, and endoscopic investigations proved the retroperitoneum to be the primary site.

Myoepithelial carcinoma is an exceedingly rare malignant neoplasm that most frequently occurs in the salivary gland. We here report a case of myoepithelial carcinoma in a 57-year-old man. Unenhanced and contrast-enhanced CT scans showed an ill-defined, heterogeneous, contrast-enhancing mass in the left parapharyngeal space, which suggested malignancy. F-FDG PET/CT showed a hypermetabolic mass and multiple FDG-avid lymph nodes in the bilateral cervical regions. An incision biopsy was performed, and the pathological examination confirmed the mass to be a myoepithelial carcinoma.

Primary endometrial hepatoid adenocarcinoma is a rare tumor. We present a case of a 64-year-old woman with vaginal bleeding for 2 months and a markedly elevated serum α-fetoprotein of 3931 ng/mL. Skeletal muscle involvement by lymphoma is rare, particularly for mantle cell lymphoma. We describe a 65-year-old man who presented with a rapidly growing left thigh mass. FDG PET/CT characterized the mass as malignant.
