Drug-induced gingival enlargement has been reported in patients treated with various types of anticonvulsant drugs, and is generally associated with the presence of plaque, gingival inflammation, and a genetic predisposition. Effective treatment includes daily oral hygiene and periodic professional prophylaxis. However, in some patients, surgical removal of the gingival tissue overgrowth becomes necessary. The patient in this case report was mentally impaired and had severe drug-induced gingival enlargement. This report describes the initial protocol, the gingivectomy, and a 2-year follow-up.

PURPOSE: To report the voice outcome measures of thulium laser therapy as an office procedure in patients with vocal fold polyps.
METHOD: This is a retrospective chart review of all patients with vocal fold polyps who underwent office-based thulium laser treatment between November 2016 and December 2017. PURPOSE: Cavernous malformations (hemangioma) of the orbit, when symptomatic, can often be treated successfully with complete surgical excision. However, when they involve local structures in their capsule, are situated in the orbital apex, or extend through the superior orbital fissure, the risks of surgery increase significantly. PURPOSE: To determine the risk factors including retinal or vitreous hemorrhage for retinal detachment after laser photocoagulation in threshold or aggressive posterior retinopathy of prematurity.
METHODS: The medical records of 184 eyes of 94 consecutive infants who underwent diode laser photocoagulation for threshold or aggressive posterior retinopathy of prematurity between 1996 and 2006 were retrospectively reviewed.
