23 patients presenting with symptoms of pheochromocytoma were subjected to the clonidine suppression test. In 6 patients, in whom a pheochromocytoma was surgically approved later on, norepinephrine was not suppressed by clonidine. 17 patients in whom a secondary form of hypertension could be excluded by other diagnostic measures showed a marked decrease of plasma norepinephrine. Apart from drowsiness, no adverse side effects were observed. In our hands, the clonidine test proved as a safe and specific test in the diagnosis of pheochromocytoma.

The incidence of syphilis has risen dramatically in many regions despite the availability of affordable facility-based testing and curative treatment. The recent approval of over-the-counter syphilis self-tests (SSTs) represents an important advance for expanding diagnostic access and disease control and prevention. Evidence demonstrates that SSTs are accurate, usable, and acceptable. However, as with HIV and COVID-19 self-testing, implementation challenges remain, including ensuring equitable access, supporting vulnerable groups, securing linkage to care, and maintaining quality assurance.

INTRODUCTION: Dementia is one of the most relevant widespread diseases, with a prevalence of currently 55 million people with dementia worldwide. However, about 60-75% of people with dementia have not yet received a formal diagnosis. Asymptomatic screening of cognitive impairments using neuropsychiatric tests has been proven to efficiently enhance diagnosis rates. Digital screening tools, in particular, provide the advantage of being accessible without spatial or time restrictions. The study aims to validate a digital cognitive screening test (digiDEM-SCREEN) as an app in the German language.

Bilateral retrobulbar optic neuritis in young adults are most often caused by demyelinate disease (MS). In all cases where MS was eliminated, we have used selected tests regarding to history, clinical findings and differential diagnosis. Diagnosis of Lyme disease is approved by diagnostic criteria proposed by Center for Control and Prevention of disease. In our case diagnosis of Lyme disease was established by history of illness, clinical findings and positive serlological tests.
