Interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS) presents a significant challenge for urologists in terms of management, owing to its chronic nature and adverse impact on patient quality of life. Given the potential distinction between two disease entities within IC/BPS, namely Hunner-type IC and BPS without Hunner lesion, there is a need for an optimal therapeutic approach that focuses on the bladder lesions in Hunner-type IC. In this study, we tried to visualize bacteria during endoscopic examination to provide a powerful tool for a diagnosis of gastrointestinal infection. Urinothorax is a rare pleural effusion resulting from urine accumulation in the pleural space, commonly secondary to obstructive uropathy, surgical injury, or trauma. This case presents a 60-year-old female with renal calculi presenting preoperatively for elective cystoscopy and lithotripsy who endorsed chest discomfort and hypoxia was found to have a left chest mass, ultimately diagnosed as a large urinothorax. This case reviews the causes of urinothorax, its treatments, and its anesthetic implications.

Megalourethra is an infrequent malformation of the anterior urethra that is caused by the lack of corpus sponigosum and in severe cases is accompanied by the lack of corpora cavernosa as well. We report a five-year-old boy presented to us with scaphoid variety of megalourethra having complaints of ballooning of urethra during voiding. He was investigated with urethrogram and cystoscopy and subsequently repaired with Nesbitt Longitudinal Reduction Urethroplasty. He had smooth recovery postoperatively with normal voiding stream on follow up.

Endoscopy and laparoscopy are used for the assessment of disorders of sex development (DSD) and therapeutic interventions. Endoscopy (urethra-cystoscopy, vaginoscopy) is especially useful when vaginal or urethral surgery is planned. It is also valuable for the assessment of complications. Laparoscopy is used to identify sex ducts and gonads and to perform minimally invasive abdominal and pelvic surgery. This article reviews clinical indications, limitations, findings, and their reporting. It further discusses the impact of these findings on care in typical clinical situations.

Before making a treatment decision for patients presenting with a urethral stricture, following anamnesis and general examinations, appropriate diagnostics are necessary. Female hypospadias is a rare malformation. We report on an unusual case that presented with a urethral dimple in the perineum in association with a pelvic soft tissue sarcoma compressing and displacing the urethra. A 2 year old male child presented with mass on right side of abdomen. The clinical diagnosis of renal lump was made and rest of the examination did not reveal any abnormality. His intravenous pyelography showed non-functioning left kidney. Cystoscopy and ascending pyelography on left side showed normal ureteric orifices and crossing of the left ureter to opposite side. Ectopic kidney was removed without any damage to the lower pole of the right kidney.
