The fluoride-ion battery (FIB) is a post-lithium anionic battery that utilizes the fluoride-ion shuttle, achieving high theoretical energy densities of up to 1393 Wh L-1 without relying on critical minerals. Hardened gated x-ray detectors use photographic film as the data recording medium due to its low sensitivity to the high-yield neutron environments at the National Ignition Facility (NIF). Clusters of main group elements, such as phosphorus, arsenic, germanium, and tin - called Zintl clusters - have been known for more than a century. However, their application in main group catalysis is largely unknown. Here, we tether boranes to a seven-atom phosphorus cluster ({C8H14}BCH2CH2SiMe2)3P7 (2) and we demonstrate Lewis acid catalysis as proof-of-principle that boron chemistry can be mapped onto clusters using this method. Catalyst 2 was employed to mediate key organic transformations, including the hydroboration of carbodiimides, isocyanates, ketones, alkenes, alkynes, and nitriles.

We report measurements on Ti4MnBi2, where a crystal structure involving linear chains of Mn ions suggests one-dimensional magnetic character. CASE STUDY: A 62-year-old woman presenting with recurrence of acinic cell carcinoma of the parotid gland with invasion of the skull base was treated by external 3D conformational radiation, having refused large-scale exeresis. PURPOSE: To determine whether current perception threshold (CPT) varied between subjects with and without carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) and whether positioning in wrist extension (reversed Phalen's test) was provocative.
