The author made an analysis of results of treatment of 85 patients using standard and his original techniques of operative and medicamentous treatment. It was shown that the new techniques of lithoextraction from the main pancreatic duct and endolymphatic medicamentous therapy decreased the frequency of complications from 23.5% to 7.1%.

Lyme disease and tick-borne encephalitis have similar principal epidemiological features chiefly associated with their basic carrier and determinants of human infection. The cases of Lyme disease, as evidenced by laboratory studies, indicate that there are active natural foci of this infection in the city, frequently combining with natural foci of tick-borne encephalitis. At the same time a great quantity of cases of tick-borne encephalitis and Lyme disease (mixed infection) is notified in Tomsk.

Whether the Russian praziquantel analog azinox can be widely used in the foci of opisthorchiasis was first assessed. The outpatient treatment of 7405 patients with the agent in doses of 30, 40, 60 mg/kg body weight revealed that azinox tolerance did not depend upon the intensity and degree of clinical infection signs but it was slightly worse when a dose of 60 mg/kg was given. Children virtually showed no adverse reactions, in adults their frequency was no more than 52 +/- 1.4%. Serum IgE, gastrin, and insulin levels were measured by radioimmunoassay and gastric secretion was studied by the method of submaximal histamine stimulation in 59 inhabitants of Sverdlovsk and 51 former inhabitants of Tyumen Province, who had chronic opisthorchiasis. The aim of the study was to evaluate the prevalence of dental diseases requiring prosthetic treatment among rural population of Omsk region. The study involved 1247 residents from 12 rural areas of the Omsk region at the age of 18 to 87 years. Partial absence of teeth was found in 69.4±1.30%, 7.5±0.75% had a complete absence of teeth on one jaw and 3.8±0.54% on both jaws.
