PURPOSE: To describe the clinical features, prognostic factors, safety and rate of success of surgery and visual outcomes in patients with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) and choroidal melanoma (CM).
METHODS: A retrospective, observational case-series of 21 patients with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment or combined tractional-rhegmatogenous retinal detachment in patients with choroidal melanoma over a period of 20 years.

Sclerosing angiomatoid nodular transformation (SANT) of the spleen is a complex vascular lesion recently described. CASE REPORT: We present a case of a chordoid meningioma, a tumour sub-type which comprises less than 0.5% of all meningiomas. The patient, a 12-year-old Somalian girl with a history of having had a craniotomy for a brain tumour in her native country 11 months previously, presented with seizures. A very rare case of multiple primary intracranial tumors is reported. A 41-year-old female patient was referred for surgery with a cerebellopontine angle (CPA) tumor. Medical history and MRI study showed typical findings of a right acoustic neuroma with a hydrocephalus. A 14-year-old boy with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in remission developed headaches characteristic of migraines. His neurologic examination was normal, serial studies of cerebrospinal fluid were unremarkable, and the headaches responded promptly to antimigraine therapy. Ultimately, radiographic and pathologic examinations demonstrated a choroid plexus carcinoma.

We evaluated 16 patients with malignant melanomas of the choroid (11) or the ciliary body (5) by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), using a 0.5 T magnet and a surface coil. The tumor was seen in all cases, hyperintense in T1-weighted images, and hypointense in T2-weighted sequences (80%). Symptoms typically develop when the tumors have reached sufficient size to cause compression of adjacent neural structures or cause obstructive hydrocephalus.
