Biopsies are occasionally necessary to confirm the diagnosis of secondary-stage syphilis, currently achieved by clinico-serological correlation. However, histopathologic examination may offer clues that can lead to the diagnosis of the disease in previously unsuspected or unusual cases. We report the case of a 35-year-old male patient with vitiligo-like lesions for two years, whose diagnosis of syphilis was suggested only after histopathologic examination. Some microscopic aspects observed are discussed and compared to data from the literature.

Anemic-appearing macules of the extremities that fluctuate with temperature and position have been referred to as Bier spots. After review of the literature and innumerable clinical presentations, we propose that the best description and better nomenclature is physiologic anemic macules. We present the case of a 27-year-old woman with physiologic anemic macules and review the history of this condition.

We report a 5-year-old girl with localized basaloid follicular hamartoma. The lesion consisted of a linear, hypopigmented, atrophic patch on the right lateral side of nose. Of great interest is that the linear distribution of lesion may follow the Blaschko's line of the face.

INTRODUCTION: Isolated areas of hypopigmented skin can be a manifestation of mycosis fungoides. This is a rare clinical form with a particular clinical course and histology which has been described only in black subjects.
CASE REPORT: Over a 10-year period, a 28-year-old woman from Mali developed non-infiltrated hypopigmented and discretely squamous macules involving the entire body. The diagnosis of mycosis fungoides was made on pathology evidence of epidermotropic lymphocyte infiltration with a few small nests. PUVA led to rapid regression of the lesions.

PURPOSE: To report the observation of iris atrophy with the use of Dexycu in cataract surgery and describe a possible mechanism for this complication.
OBSERVATIONS: Between 2020 and 2021, 2 patients underwent cataract surgery procedures with the use of Dexycu and experienced iris atrophy. The first case of iris atrophy was discovered by 6-month follow-up and the second case by 2-month follow-up.
