A 16-y-old Japanese female was referred to our hospital with a suspicion of infected retroperitoneal cyst. Abdominal CT MRI revealed a 38-mm diameter retroperitoneal cyst under the left diaphragm. Because a retroperitoneal bronchogenic cyst was suspected, total resection was planned. In addition, preoperative 3D reconstruction using multidetector CT provided a detailed location of the lesion. Abstract Laparoscopic retroperitoneal lymph node dissection (RPLND) has been shown to be safe and effective in appropriately selected pediatric and adolescent patients with paratesticular rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) and testicular germ-cell tumors (T-GCT). While the use of robot-assisted laparoscopy has expanded rapidly in many areas, there are very limited reports of its use with RPLND. We present two cases of adolescents who were treated using robot-assisted laparoscopic RPLND (R-RPLND)-one with paratesticular RMS (PT-RMS) and one with testicular GCT (T-GCT)-with good outcomes and low morbidity.

We present a 15-year-old girl with chronic pancytopenia secondary to Fanconi anaemia who developed extensive NF of the lower limb, which unfortunately resulted in a fatal outcome. In laparoscopic operations for renal tumor and upper urinary-tract transitional-cell carcinoma (TCC), three approaches - the transperitoneal, retroperitoneal, and transperitoneal hand-assisted - have been reported. We have performed hand-assisted retroperitoneoscopic radical nephrectomy (RN) since 1999 and nephroureterectomy (NU) since 2000. The surgical techniques and the operative results of 95 cases of RN and 54 cases of NU are described and analyzed. These procedures were effective and safe for renal tumors and upper urinary-tract TCC.

OBJECTIVE: To discover the anatomical basis of retroperitoneal laparoscopic surgery.
METHODS: Twenty Chinese adult cadavers including 12 and 8 woman were anatomized. The relationship between nerves, vessels of the lateral abdominal wall, retroperitoneal structures and the path of retroperitoneal laparoscopic surgery were measured.
