BACKGROUND: Thalidomide, an antiangiogenic agent, was approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 1998 for the treatment of erythema nodosum leprosum. Although its teratogenic and neurologic side effects are well known, its dermatologic side effects continue to be defined.

Erythroderma, defined as erythema involving over 90% of the body surface area, is a rare but potentially life-threatening dermatologic condition in children. BACKGROUND: To date, few cases of TSS caused by coagulase negative (CoN) staphylococci have been reported in the literature. Erythrodema secondary to subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus (SCLE) is rare. We report a 61-year-old man presenting with erythroderma secondary to SCLE. During erythrodermic phase our patient still had few annular and polycyclic lesions characteristic of SCLE. He was successfully treated with topical and oral corticosteriods.

Differentiation between Sézary's syndrome (SS) and benign forms of erythroderma may be extremely difficult.
