UNLABELLED: Arthroscopy of the hallux metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joint is an evolving technique for hallux rigidus and other disorders of the hallux MTP joint. Purported advantages of this minimally invasive procedure include rapid rehabilitation and the ability to identify and address other intra-articular and sesamoid pathologies without additional dissection. Larger, prospective, and comparative outcomes studies are needed to optimize the treatment algorithm.

Foreign bodies may be deposited in the oral cavity either by traumatic injury or iatrogenically. Among the commonly encountered iatrogenic foreign bodies are restorative materials like amalgam, obturation materials, broken instruments, needles, etc. Few reports of glass pieces embedded in the soft tissues of the mouth have been published. We report a case where glass pieces had been lodged in the lower labial mucosa for 20 years, with consequent peripheral reactive bone formation.

Locking of the second metacarpal joint is common, but locking of other metacarpal joints is unusual. We present a case, in which the joint of the third finger locked and the mechanism was an osteophyte catching of the ulnar accessory collateral ligament. In such a case, the joint should be explored through a palmar approach. Conservative treatment is not recommended.

Downbeat nystagmus (DBN) uncommonly occurs as a transient phenomenon, and it rarely occurs in patients with cerebrovascular disease. We observed a patient with intermittent DBN and lightheadedness due to transient obstruction of his dominant vertebral artery when he turned his head to his left side. Surgical removal of an osteophyte at the site of the angiographically demonstrated lesion relieved his symptoms.

We report four cases of locked metacarpophalangeal joint. This is a rare and, sometimes, undiagnosed pathology. Locking of the joint is due to a conflict between the head of the metacarpal and one of the collateral ligaments. X-Rays may show an osteophyte or a malformation. Treatment varies from simple traction to surgery. Recurrence is rare.

PURPOSE: This study is to share our experience of a modified anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) procedure with a new source of autograft bone for interbody fusion.

A retrospective case-control study was undertaken to evaluate the pathologic radiographic changes that occur in primary osteoarthritis of the elbow.
