Pseudocirrhosis, which is radiologically and clinically similar to liver cirrhosis, may develop following chemotherapy for breast cancer with liver metastasis. There are few reports of eribulin treatment. We report 5 patients with metastatic or recurrent breast cancer who developed pseudocirrhosis during eribulin treatment. All patients had diffuse liver metastasis, and the liver metastases significantly reduced in size during the early phase of eribulin treatment, when they developed pseudocirrhosis. Subsequently, the patients had poor prognoses.

This study evaluated the genotoxicity of Ethanol Extract (EEEp), Dichloromethane Fraction (FDCMEp) and isoeleutherin isolated from Eleutherine plicata, using the micronucleus test and the impact of structural alterations on toxicity and molecular docking (topoisomerase II and DNA complex). The extract was obtained by maceration and fractionation in a chromatography column. The genotoxicity was evaluated by the micronucleus test in human hepatoma cells (HepG2). Isoeleutherin was the starting molecule in the search for analogues by structural similarity, using the ZINC and e-Molecules databases.

In this paper, in the presence of trimethylsilyl iodide, the direct ortho-C-H hydroxyalkylation/methylation of aryl iodines was effectively realized via palladium/norbornene cooperative catalysis when low-cost tetrahydrofuran and 1,2-dimethoxyethane were used as alkyl sources. Heck, Suzuki, and Sonogashira coupling and hydrogenation were all compatible with the reaction as termination steps. The effects of temperature on growth and production of Lipophilic Toxins (LT) by a monoclonal culture of Dinophysis caudata was studied. The cell density of D. caudata increased significantly with increasing temperature, and was the highest under 27, 30, and 32.5 °C. A novel and efficient method for the Cr(II)-mediated desulfonylation of α-sulfonyl ketone by a Cr-ligand-Mn system has been developed during the course of process research on Halaven (eribulin mesylate). This reaction is dramatically accelerated in the presence of an appropriate bipyridyl-type ligand. This system is applicable to reduction of α-sulfur-substituted ketones. In addition, a Cr-Cp2ZrCl2-Mn catalytic system is also applicable to desulfonylation of α-sulfonyl ketone.
