Quantum chemical calculations of geometric structure and vibrational wavenumbers of 2-[4-(N-dodecanoylamino)phenyl]-5-(4-nitrophenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole (AF51) were carried out by using density functional theory (DFT/B3LYP/6-311G(d,p) method. High-speed counter-current chromatography (HSCCC) was applied for the first time for the preparative separation of spirobisnaphthalenes from a crude extract of the endophytic fungus Berkleasmium sp. A series of novel imidazo[1,2-a]pyridines possessing 4-pyrone ring were synthesized by three-component condensation of 4-pyrone carbaldehydes, 2-aminopyridines and isocyanides. Trypanosomiasis caused by Trypanosoma evansi commonly produces wasting disease with signs of emaciation and cachexia mainly at the end stage. The present study was conducted to explore the possible hyperlipaemia or hyperlipidaemia and its association with cachexia-anorexia in equine trypanosomiasis. The pure and glycine doped cadmium thiourea sulphate (GCTS) single crystals were grown successfully by slow evaporation method at room temperature. The concentration of dopant in the mother solution was 1 mol%. There is a change in unit cell. The Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy study confirms the incorporation of glycine into CTS crystal. The doped crystals are optically better and more transparent than the pure ones. The dopant increases the hardness value of the material. The grown crystals were also subjected to thermal and NLO studies.

A simple and sensitive method has been developed and validated for the determination of aliskiren (ALS) in its dosage forms and spiked plasma. A CdS/CdSe quantum-dot (QD)-cosensitized TiO(2) film has been fabricated using a microwave-assisted chemical bath deposition technique and used as a photoanode for QD-sensitized solar cells. The molecular magnet material, cobalt-Prussian Blue, has been synthesized using chitosan as a morphological structure-directing agent. The strong chelating ability of the biopolymer ensures that the inorganic phase remains nanoparticulate. This study elucidate the modification on oxidative and thermal stability of acid olive oils during the neutralization step. The neutralization of an acidified olive oil, chosen as model, was carried out by substituting lime (calcium hydroxide) for soda (sodium hydroxide) as the neutralizing agent. Well-defined flower-like CdS nanostructures have been synthesized by applying ultrasound and microwave simultaneously, which consist of hexagonal nanopyramids and/or nanoplates depending on different sulfur sources. It is shown that the synergistic effect of microwave and sonochemistry is the main mechanism for the formation of the nanoflowers.
