We report a rare case of retinoblastoma which developed in unilateral microphthalmia. A 4-year-old girl presented with a large, intraocular mass in microphthalmia without a family history of retinoblastoma. The eyeball was enucleated due to rapid growth of the intraocular tumor. Microscopically it proved to be a retinoblastoma with some Flexner-Wintersteiner rosettes. This unusual case shows that retinoblastoma should not be excluded just because the eye is small, particularly if the family history is not available or is incomplete.

We treated two cases of endophthalmitis caused by strabismus surgery. In one patient, a scleral perforation was recognized during surgery and treated with cryopexy. In the other, a scleral perforation was suspected but never confirmed. Despite intensive antibiotic and corticosteroid therapy, visual acuity decreased to light perception in Case 1 and to counting fingers in Case 2. The second eye was enucleated eight years later after it had become blind and painful.

We report the evolution of clinical features of orbital implant infection in a 42-year-old man. Despite appropriate treatment recurrent conjunctival dehiscence could not be prevented. Explanation of the implant resulted in complete resolution of symptoms. Histopathological examination confirmed focal necrotising acute inflammation with the presence of colonies of the organism in the deep substance of the implant.

Information on corneal manifestation in pseudoexfoliation syndrome is restricted to specular microscopic studies. We investigated morphologic changes of the posterior cornea of two corneal buttons with Fuchs' endothelial dystrophy obtained at penetrating keratoplasty and of one enucleated glaucomatous eye from three patients with ocular pseudoexfoliation syndrome. By transmission electron microscopy, large clumps of typical pseudoexfoliation material were found adhering to the corneal endothelium and masses of pseudoexfoliation material were incorporated into the posterior Descemet's membrane.
