State-of-the-art electrocaloric cooling prototypes rely on the conventional electrocaloric effect of ferroelectric lead scandium tantalate (PbSc0.5Ta0.5O3, PST), which peaks near room temperature. This study presents a first-principles investigation of Cs2AsAuX6 (X = Br, Cl) double perovskites using density functional theory within generalized gradient approximation (GGA) and modified Becke-Johnson approaches.
