Patients with classical Ehlers Danlos syndrome (cEDS) suffer impaired wound healing and from scars formed after injuries that are atrophic and difficult to close surgically. Haploinsufficiency in COL5A1 creates systemic morphological and functional alterations in the entire body. Vibrio cholerae relies on two main virulence factors--toxin-coregulated pilus (TCP) and cholera toxin--to cause the gastrointestinal disease cholera. ABR latency ratios have been proposed as useful clinical tools in the assessment of infants at risk for auditory or neurologic deficits. These parameters, together with classical absolute and interwave latency measures, were examined in 131 infants with normal ABR thresholds at 48-64 weeks post-conceptional age, and with no conventional risk factor for hearing impairment or neurological abnormality. Pregnancy is a risk factor for stroke in young women, but the effect of delivery on recovery and rehabilitation after stroke has not been elucidated in pregnant patients with stroke. This case report presents a pregnant patient with stroke who recovered successfully after cesarean delivery during rehabilitation. The possible effect of oxytocin is discussed as a factor promoting recovery from stroke. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: V.

METHODS: This retrospective single-center study determined the mortality of 18 patients with PAN who were admitted to Juntendo University Hospital from 1994 to 2016. OBJECTIVE: To investigate whether activated protein C resistance (APC-R) is associated with recurrent spontaneous abortion.
METHODS: APC-R was detected by activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) in the presence and absence of APC. Subjects included 40 nonpregnant parous women (control group) and 55 patients with recurrent spontaneous abortion.
