We herein report our experience with the management of laryngoceles using transoral robotic surgery (TORS). A bicentric retrospective study was conducted from November 2009 to September 2015. BACKGROUND: We present the first reported case of robotic-assisted right atrial perforation repair and pacemaker lead extraction.
METHODS: A 75-year-old female with symptomatic sinus node dysfunction underwent atrial single chamber permanent pacemaker insertion via a persistent left superior vena cava approach. At one week follow-up a chest radiograph and a computerized dynamic tomography demonstrated that the right atrial lead had perforated the right atrial free wall. The patient remained asymptomatic without signs of pericardial tamponade, however urgent repair was warranted.

We report three deaths following percutaneous dilatational tracheostomy in a series of 1187 procedures undertaken in a single intensive care unit over a 13-year period. An expanded interaction fingerprint method has been developed for analyzing the binding modes of ligands in docking and structure-based design methods. Taking the basic premise of representing a ligand in terms of a binary string that denotes its interactions with a target protein, we have expanded the method to include additional interaction-specific information. By considering the hydrogen-bonding strength and/or accessibility of the hydrogen bonding groups within a binding site as well as their geometric arrangement we aim to provide a better representation of a ligand-protein interaction.
