In order to determine if immunohistologic features are useful in distinguishing benign from malignant types of erythroderma, we studied the immunophenotype of lesional T cells in 20 patients (8 mycosis fungoides/Sézary syndrome, 12 benign) and found them to be generally similar. Lymph node sections from 12 patients with Sézary syndrome (SS) were studied histologically. The histopathologic alterations were compared with those in lymph nodes from four patients with (erythrodermatic) mycosis fungoides (MF) and two patients with a benign form of erythroderma. Five patients with plaque type mycosis fungoides (MF) and five patients with erythrodermic MF responded favorably to oral psoralen photochemotherapy (PUVA). Canine leishmaniasis (CanL) is a zoonotic vector-borne disease that is endemic in the Mediterranean Basin including Morocco. Dogs play a major epidemiological role in this zoonosis as reservoir hosts. This study investigated the clinical manifestations of CanL in dogs naturally infected with Leishmania infantum. In a search for contact sensitivity to antioxidants we patch tested consecutive patients referred with eczematous dermatitis. Six cases of allergic contact sensitivity to nordihydroguairetic acid (NDGA) were observed. Three had been sensitized by one brand of cream containing 0.1% NDGA, in three patients the source of sensitization could not be traced. In four patients we found positive patch tests to butylated hydroxyanisole and/or to butylated hydroxytoluene. In two cases the positive patch tests were relevant, since both patients remained asymptomatic when antioxidants were avoided in food.

Neonatal erythroderma is a rare but serious condition characterized by generalized erythema and scaling present from birth or shortly after. We report a case of neonatal erythroderma in a 3-week-old male related to a heterozygous mutation in the CARD14 gene. The successful use of secukinumab adds an additional case to underscore the potential of targeted biologic therapies in treating severe neonatal inflammatory conditions.
