Urethral injuries are infrequent, and management is challenging. We present a case of urethral transection associated with a penile fracture following gunshot injury. During the initial exploration complete urethral transection revealed with a bleeding penile fracture. With the use of an antegrade guidewire and a catheter, urethral ends aligned, and penile fracture repaired with suturing the tunica albuginea. When certain strictures which have been treated for a long time start to bleed, the possibility of carcinoma should be considered. However, cancer may present in the form of more recent and deteriorating dysuria. The diagnosis is based on urethrography which shows a narrow and tortuous pass. Biopsy should be performed under urethroscopic guidance. The cancer is usually in the bulbomembranous segment. Treatment is disappointing. Wide excision is very badly disabling.

The authors analyze the results of laser therapy of residual urethritis and complications of urethral inflammations: cystitis, prostatitis, epididymitis, urethral strictures. Laser therapy was found particularly effective in the treatment of residual urethritis and valuable in multiple-modality treatment of urethrogenic epididymitis, cystitis, and prostatitis. The authors discuss the possibility of palliative therapy of cicatricial strictures of the urethra developing after installations and instrumental invasions for urethritis.

INTRODUCTION: Female urethral stricture secondary to erosión by suburethral sling is an unfrequent problem of difficult solution. Ventral vaginal rotation flaps or buccal mucosa dorsal grafts are not useful because this type of stricture is very proximal (close to the bladder neck) and the vagina is thinned. INTRODUCTION/OBJECTIVE: Urethroplasty is often required for long urethral strictures or urethral strictures that have recurred after repeated urethral dilatations or urethrotomy. The transvers penile skin pedicled flap is very versatile for the reconstruction of long urethral stricture. However the meticulous sharp dissection required to develop it takes a long time to do and may be associated with button hole injuries to the vascular pedicle and the penile skin. Urethral duplication is a complex and rarely seen anomaly with three anatomic variants: epispadiac (dorsal), hypospadiac (ventral) and Y-type. Here we report an 11-year-old male patient with hypospadiac urethral duplication who presented with daytime urinary incontinence and dribbling, urethral stricture and possible obstructive uropathy. After endoscopic treatment of the stricture in the ventral (dominant) urethra, urethral reconstruction was done anastomosing the ventral (dominant) and dorsal (non-dominant atretic urethra) in a dismembered fashion.
