We report a series of three patients who developed checkpoint inhibitor-related myocarditis with orbital myositis and/or myasthenia gravis overlap syndrome, with varying degrees of severity. In all cases, checkpoint inhibitor therapy was immediately discontinued upon diagnosis and corticosteroids were initiated. While two patients achieved substantial recovery, one patient passed away on hospital day three. These cases underscore the critical need for prompt recognition of adverse events associated with immune checkpoint inhibitors.

Necrotizing fasciitis is a rapidly progressive soft tissue infection with high mortality. Aggressive and often repeated surgical debridements are considered the mainstay of treatment, but these interventions may cause significant postoperative morbidity. In this article, the authors present a rare case of orbital necrotizing fasciitis, which was treated with the use of a temporary indwelling retrobulbar drain for antibiotic delivery to deep orbital tissues, in lieu of aggressive debridement. To the authors' knowledge, this is the first report of this technique.

The next generation of space-based experiments will go hunting for answers to cosmology's key open questions which revolve around inflation, dark matter and dark energy. Low earth orbit and lunar missions within the European Space Agency's Human and Robotic Exploration programme can push our knowledge forward in all of these three fields.
