A new two-strain model, for assessing the impact of basic control measures, treatment and dose-structured mass vaccination on cholera transmission dynamics in a population, is designed. The model has a globally-asymptotically stable disease-free equilibrium whenever its associated reproduction number is less than unity. This paper studies a bulk-surface reaction-diffusion system for cell polarization in two-dimensional domains. The model describes the formation of localized patterns through the wave-pinning mechanism, while explicitly incorporating the effect of cell shape. Bovine Babesiosis in cattle is caused by the transmission of protozoa of Babesia spp. by ticks as vectors. Juvenile cattle (<9 months of age) have resistance to Bovine Babesiosis, rarely show symptoms, and acquire immunity upon recovery. Susceptibility to the disease varies between breeds of cattle. OBJECTIVE: Classifiers play an important role in describing the quantity information of objects. Few studies have been conducted to investigate the brain organization for quantity processing of classifiers. In the current study, we investigated whether activation of numeral classifiers was specific to the bilateral inferior parietal areas, which are believed to process numerical magnitude.

Recovery of yeast cells after exposure to ionizing radiation was found in 1957. During the first decade, i.e. in the "premolecular period" of studying the phenomenon, its basic features were revealed: dependence on ploidy of cells, on their energy exchange, on radiation LTE, and others. A mathematical model of recovery was proposed; the damages causing death of irradiated haploid and diploid cells were shown to be double strand breaks of DNA. The concepts of universal biological importance of the cell property to repair genetic damages were formulated.
