The authors report 6 cases (4 girls and 2 boys) with central precocious puberty associated with a suprasellar arachnoid cyst. Precocious puberty is rarely the presenting sign of arachnoid cysts. Five girls with idiopathic true precocious puberty are reported who underwent spontaneous regression of sexual development. In all patients the signs of sexual maturation were of moderate degree. Considering the possible spontaneous regression of precocious puberty, in similar cases it seems advisable to defer suppressive central therapy for about 6-12 months.

AIM: The objective of this study was to validate basal, post-gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogue (post-GnRHa) and first-voided urinary LH (ULH) as alternatives to an LHRH stimulation test in monitoring treatment efficacy in central precocious puberty (CPP).

OBJECTIVE: Little has been published on treatment of precocious puberty in girls with Williams-Beuren syndrome (WBS), a condition occurring frequently in this group.
