Cervical cancer is the 4th most diagnosed cancer in women. At a locally advanced stage, standard treatment combines chemotherapy, radiotherapy and a brachytherapy boost. Brachytherapy is a radiotherapy modality, often unknown, which allows the delivery of a very targeted high dose because it's given directly in contact with the tumor. This technique has proven its effectiveness in the treatment of locally advanced cervical cancer. It represents a major advantage because, despite technical advances, there is currently no alternative yielding equivalent results.

The ninth edition of TNM staging for lung cancer has been announced at the 2023 World Lung Cancer Congress and implemented from January 1, 2024. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the clinical features of distant metastatic penile cancer (DMPC) and the factors influencing its prognosis.
METHODS: We searched the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results Database for cases of DMPC diagnosed between 2004 and 2019, analyzed their clinical characteristics and the cancer-specific survival (CSS) rates relating to different factors using the Kaplan-Meier method and the differences among the variables by log-rank test. Tumor biology and careful patient selection weigh heavily in determining the appropriate role of surgical resection in stage IV melanoma. Historically, surgical resection for highly selected patients with metastatic melanoma was the only treatment modality associated with improved long-term survival and the ability to provide palliation. With the new age of effective systemic therapies, the treatment of metastatic melanoma has become more intricate and future work is needed to better define the role for surgery within the current treatment paradigm.
