Tennis elbow is a common and difficult-to-treat condition largely because of lack of evidence. The natural history is unknown, but the condition is described as self-limiting. The objective of this case report is to describe the natural course of two control participants (pain free), who later developed tennis elbow, patient history, clinical findings, and ultrasound and colour Doppler examination before, during and after a period of tennis elbow.

OBJECTIVE: To determine the value of ultrasonography in the diagnosis of cholecystoduodenal fistulas (CDFs).
METHODS: Twenty-three patients with calculous cholecystitis were suspected to have CDFs on pre-operative ultrasonography. Oral gastrointestinal (GI) ultrasound contrast medium was infused to dynamically observe the presence or absence of a CDF, and the results were compared with the operative findings. The criterion for ultrasonic diagnosis of CDF was dynamic observation of the contrast medium entering the gallbladder through the fistula orifice.

We present a case of high-flow priapism due to perineal trauma and subsequent arteriocavernosal fistula, which was diagnosed by sonography. Selective arterial embolization led to complete detumescence without compromising the patient's erectile function. Color Doppler sonography is an appropriate diagnostic tool to diagnose arteriocavernosal fistula. Selective arterial embolization is a safe and effective therapeutic option.

BACKGROUND: The detection of subclavian artery (SCA) stenosis or occlusion is important, and an easy and accurate noninvasive screening method is needed.
METHODS: Pulsed Doppler spectra of bilateral SCA, vertebral arteries, axillary arteries, and brachial arteries were recorded and analyzed both in patients with SCA stenosis and healthy subjects.

Taiwan is nearly free from hydatid disease. We report a case of hydatid cyst of the liver in a 37-year-old man who originally lived in India and had migrated to Taiwan 2 years earlier. He presented with right upper quadrant pain and intermittent low-grade fever. Both sonography and computed tomography (CT) demonstrated a cystic lesion with vesicles at its periphery in segments 6 and 7 of the liver. A hydatid cyst was diagnosed. We present the case of a young woman with persistent secondary postpartum hemorrhage. Transvaginal imaging demonstrated an irregular pulsatile lesion in the anterior myometrium. Color Doppler analysis revealed the presence of abnormal vessels consistent with an arteriovenous malformation. Typically this vascular abnormality had a turbulent pattern of arterial and venous flow with high peak velocities and low resistance. The patient was treated with selective arterial embolization leading to a full recovery.
