Protective effects of Dendrobium nobile Lindl. alkaloids in a novel mouse model of Alzheimer's disease with chronic cerebral hypoperfusion.

BackgroundIncreasing numbers of studies indicate that the pathophysiological progression of Alzheimer's disease (AD) could be accelerated by chronic cerebral hypoperfusion (CCH). These findings suggest that cerebrovascular dysfunction may induce cognitive impairment in AD by expediting neurodegeneration. Dendrobium nobile Lindl. alkaloids (DNLA), the primary active components of Dendrobium nobile Lindl., have been shown to enhance cognitive function and exhibit neuroprotective effects in AD animal models.ObjectiveHowever, the impact of DNLA on AD with CCH is still elusive.MethodsIn this study,

Analysis of metagenome and metabolome disclosed the mechanisms of Dendrobium officinale polysaccharide on DSS-induced ulcerative colitis-affected mice.

Currently, there is no known cause for ulcerative colitis (UC), an inflammatory bowel disease that is difficult to treat. This assay aimed to investigate the protective effects and mechanisms of Dendrobium officinale polysaccharide (DOP) in mice with acute UC induced by dextran sulphate sodium (DSS). We found that DOP could improve weight loss, decrease the disease activity index (DAI), and regulate the release of interleukin 2 (IL-2), IL-4, IL-6, and IL-10 in DSS-induced acute UC mice. Additionally, DOP preserved the integrity of the intestinal barrier in UC mice by increasing goblet cell den

Fabrication and application of a Dendrobium officinale polysaccharide-based active film incorporated with carbon dots and anthocyanins for shrimp preservation.

This study developed an intelligent active packaging film based on Dendrobium officinale polysaccharides (DOP), incorporating copper-doped carbon dots (Cu-CD) derived from the residue of DOP extraction and anthocyanins (AMA) extracted from Aronia melanocarpa. To clarify the fundamental physicochemical properties of DOP and AMA, both were systematically characterized. For DOP, the molecular weight, monosaccharide composition, total sugar content, and in vitro antioxidant activity were determined. For AMA, the total anthocyanin content and antioxidant activity were measured. On this basis, the e

Alkaloids from Dendrobium Nobile Lindl Improves Mitochondrial Function by Enhancing the Activity of v-ATPase in APP/PS1 Mice.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by neuronal loss and cognitive deficiency. Mitochondrial dysfunction and lysosomal abnormalities are critical during AD pathogenesis. The vesicular ATPase (v-ATPase) is a core regulator of lysosomal function, and its dysfunction impairs iron-sulfur protein synthesis and mitochondrial function. In this study, 4-month-old amyloid precursor protein/presenilin 1 (APP/PS1) double transgenic mice were treated with alkaloids from Dendrobium nobile Lindl (DNLA) at 20 and 40 mg/kg/day via oral gavage for 5 months (n = 10 per group).

Adaptive Reinforced Gray Langur Optimization for Feature Selection and SVR Modeling of Polysaccharides in Dendrobium huoshanense via NIR Spectroscopy.

Adaptive Reinforced Gray Langur Optimization (ARGLO), an enhanced variant of the Gray Langurs Optimizer, is developed for high-dimensional, multimodal, and nonlinear search landscapes susceptible to local trapping. Although the original GLO performs multi-population cooperative search by simulating the social structures of gray langurs, it still suffers from uneven random initialization, insufficient adaptive population partitioning, weak local perturbation, and premature convergence. ARGLO incorporates three strategies: good point set-based oppositional and quasi-oppositional learning initial
