BACKGROUND: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease characterized by erosion of joints and surrounding tissues. RA not only causes the decline of patients' physical function and quality of life, but also brings huge economic burden to patients' families and society.
