UNLABELLED: Acne is a chronic inflammatory disease of the sebaceous glands characterized by excessive sebum production, follicular hyperkeratinization, and skin inflammation. The relevance of this study stems from the need for acne patients to receive dietary recommendations when consulting dermatologists. Data on the influence of food allergies on acne development are extremely limited, making this study particularly relevant. Oral allergy syndrome or pollen food allergy syndrome (PFAS) represents a common clinical conundrum when the reported trigger food is a tree nut (usually almond or hazelnut) or peanut. BACKGROUND: Eosinophilic oesophagitis (EoE) is characterized by oesophageal dysfunction and, histologically, by eosinophilic inflammation. There is no a clear aetiologic treatment. EoE exacerbations are often seasonal. We hypothesized that the inflammatory response of the oesophageal mucosa in patients with high levels of antibodies to pollen allergens and worsened seasonal EoE might be due to swallowing airborne pollen and the intrusion into the oesophageal mucosa of pollen allergens and pollen tubes, which encounter a pH and humidity resembling the stigma at pollination.

Unique proteins including steroleosin, caleosin, oleosin-L, and oleosin-G have been identified in seed oil bodies of pine (Pinus massoniana). BACKGROUND: Sensitization to pollen and spores of the Southeast Asian tropical region is not well documented. This study evaluated the allergenicity of the tropical airspora in Singapore.
METHODS: On the basis of the results of an aerobiologic survey of the airspora profile of Singapore, crude extracts of 23 main spore (fungal and fern) and pollen types were prepared. A total of 231 patients with asthma and/or allergic rhinitis and 76 healthy controls were evaluated by skin prick test (SPT). Zygophyllum fabago is a herbaceous plant found widely in the Mediterranean area. There are no previous reports of its allergenicity. BACKGROUND: Grass pollen is the most prevalent sensitizing aeroallergen to cause respiratory allergies in northern China. Air pollutants have a substantial effect on respiratory health and some pollens. This study aimed to investigate relationships among airborne grass pollen, air pollutants and allergic diseases, in order to determine their effects on patients with grass pollen allergies in Beijing, China, during the period from 2013 to 2016.
METHODS: Data regarding autumnal grass pollens and air pollutants measured in Beijing from 2012 to 2016 were obtained from local governmental agencies.
