OBJECTIVE: To compare the mRNA levels of transforming growth factor beta (TGF-beta) isoforms 1, 2, and 3 among surgically injured peritoneum that healed with adhesions, surgically injured peritoneum that healed without adhesions, and uninjured peritoneum.
