Transvaginal intratubal embryo transfer: a new treatment of male infertility.

Intratubal embryo transfer is a new method in the treatment of human infertility. Following transvaginal sonographic oocyte retrieval, in-vitro fertilization (IVF) is performed and embryos are transferred into the Fallopian tube transvaginally. In comparison with gamete intra-Fallopian transfer (GIFT), fertilization under in vitro conditions offers the advantage that the success of the fertilization process can be examined. Therefore, this method can give important diagnostic information, especially in cases of poor sperm quality or unexplained infertility. After fertilization in vitro and tra

Clinical Outcomes of Single Mosaic Embryo Transfer: High-Level or Low-Level Mosaic Embryo, Does it Matter?

Recently, reports showed that embryos identified as mosaic after preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploid (PGT-A) could result in live birth with lower pregnancy and higher pregnancy loss rates compared with euploid embryos. However, the effects of mosaicism level on reproductive outcomes remain controversial. This study aimed to examine the level of mosaicism on pregnancy outcomes. Single mosaic embryo transfer was offered to 108 women who only had mosaic embryos. Mosaic embryos were labeled by utilizing next generation sequencing (NGS) based PGT-A for day 5/6 trophectoderm (TE)biopsies.

A simple and rapid flow cytometry-based assay to identify a competent embryo prior to embryo transfer.

Multiple pregnancy is a risk for prematurity and preterm birth. The goal of assisted reproduction is to achieve a single pregnancy, by transferring a single embryo. This requires improved methods to identify the competent embryo. Here, we describe such a test, based on flow cytometric determination of the nucleic acid (PI+) containing extracellular vesicle (EV) count in day 5 embryo culture media. 88 women undergoing IVF were included in the study. More than 1 embryos were transferred to most patients. In 58 women, the transfer resulted in clinical pregnancy, whereas in 30 women in implantatio

Ovulatory cycle frozen embryo transfer yields similar pregnancy outcomes to programmed transfer while avoiding painful injections.

PURPOSE: Optimal endometrial preparation is essential for the transfer of a euploid embryo. Recent works have shown advantages of ovulatory cycle frozen-thawed embryo transfer (Ovu-FET) for simplicity, implantation rate, and reduction of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy; however, few women over age 40 years were included in these studies. This study compared pregnancy outcomes in patients aged 40-45 years between Ovu-FET and programmed cycle FET (PC-FET). METHODS: Retrospective cohort study in a university-affiliated fertility center. Two hundred eighty-seven FET cycles with euploid embryo

Preparation of the Endometrium for Frozen Embryo Transfer: A Systematic Review.

Despite the worldwide increase in frozen embryo transfer, the search for the best protocol to prime endometrium continues. Well-designed trials comparing various frozen embryo transfer protocols in terms of live birth rates, maternal, obstetric and neonatal outcome are urgently required. Currently, low-quality evidence indicates that, natural cycle, either true natural cycle or modified natural cycle, is superior to hormone replacement treatment protocol. Regarding warmed blastocyst transfer and frozen embryo transfer timing, the evidence suggests the 6th day of progesterone start, LH surge+6

Fresh versus frozen embryo transfers in assisted reproduction.

BACKGROUND: In general, in vitro fertilisation (IVF) or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) implies a single fresh and one or more frozen-thawed embryo transfers. Alternatively, the 'freeze-all' strategy implies transfer of frozen-thawed embryos only, with no fresh embryo transfers. In practice, both strategies can vary technically including differences in freezing techniques and timing of transfer of cryopreservation, that is vitrification versus slow freezing, freezing of two pro-nucleate (2pn) versus cleavage-stage embryos versus blastocysts, and transfer of cleavage-stage embryos versu
