Post-healing follow-up study of patients in remission for diabetic foot ulcers Pied-REM study.

The rate of recurrence for diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is 50% at 2 years Armstrong DG, 2017. International recommendations call for regular monitoring to prevent DFU recurrence. We aim to investigate the relation between post-healing follow-up and recurrence rates. The study will begin in November 2021 and end in April 2022; final study results are scheduled for December 2022. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the benefit of the multidisciplinary follow-up of healed DFU patients at the rate of two annual consultations and its impact on foot wound recurrence.

Patients' Experiences Participating Within an Interdisciplinary Primary Care Program for Low Back Pain.

A common recommendation to improve the management of low back pain (LBP) is the use of interdisciplinary teams. However, many challenges remain in establishing interdisciplinary care, particularly in community-based primary care settings. This study explored patients' experiences with interdisciplinary care for LBP using an applied phenomenological research approach. Semistructured open-ended interviews were conducted with fifteen adults enrolled in a 6-month interdisciplinary LBP program within an integrated care network. The analysis included detailed descriptions of participants' experience

Contested futures of AI ethics for global population health.

Ethical debate about artificial intelligence (AI) for health is fundamental to the good governance and long-term success of this group of technologies in healthcare and public health. Building on foundational contributions on this topic from the field of bioethics, we propose that interdisciplinary work on AI ethics should deepen the already strong engagements that exist with Science and Technology Studies (STS) to uphold core commitments of global population health. STS is an interdisciplinary field that specifically explores the meaning, development and governance of science and technology a

Interdisciplinary, interprofessional, patient- and family-centered rounds: A systematic mapping review protocol of global interventions and outcomes.

Effective communication among healthcare disciplines, professions, and patients is crucial for delivering coordinated inpatient care and achieving improved patient outcomes. The practice of daily rounds has a long history, evolving over time in structure and in the individuals involved. Rounds increasingly include diverse healthcare professionals and, in some cases, patients and families. However, inconsistent terminology-such as interprofessional, interdisciplinary, multiprofessional, and multidisciplinary-complicates research and implementation of team rounding practices. Existing reviews ha

The Lancet Commission to reduce the global burden of sudden cardiac death: a call for multidisciplinary action.

Despite major advancements in cardiovascular medicine, sudden cardiac death (SCD) continues to be an enormous medical and societal challenge, claiming millions of lives every year. Efforts to prevent SCD are hampered by imperfect risk prediction and inadequate solutions to specifically address arrhythmogenesis. Although resuscitation strategies have witnessed substantial evolution, there is a need to strengthen the organisation of community interventions and emergency medical systems across varied locations and health-care structures. With all the technological and medical advances of the 21st

Swiss interdisciplinary guidance on good practices for acute and complicated diabetic foot syndromes.

BACKGROUND: Diabetic foot syndromes (DFS) usually have negative outcomes for patients characterised by multiple comorbidities and frailty. In Switzerland, we need a nationwide "quality of care" programme consisting of evidence-based, practical guidance for primary care providers, together with the implementation of a multidisciplinary care system for DFS. METHODS: Elaboration of interprofessional and comprehensive Swiss practical guidance for the timely management of acute DFS. This guidance will not replace existing recommendations, but will be complementary to them. Before nationwide implem

Effects of an Interdisciplinary Approach in the Management of Temporomandibular Disorders: A Scoping Review.

Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) is an umbrella term that encompasses many musculoskeletal problems that include the masticatory muscles, the temporomandibular joint, and other associated structures. TMD can be divided into two large groups: those that affect the musculature and those that affect the joint. The treatment of TMD requires the combined skills of physiotherapists and dentists, as well as sometimes psychologists and other medical specialists. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the interdisciplinary approach using physiotherapy and dental techniques on pain in patients

[Cardiac Perspective on Amyloidosis: Appropriate Cardiac Diagnostic Approaches Following Histological Amyloid Detection in Tendinopathies].

Amyloidosis is a rare, typically systemic disease that may cause progressive heart failure when cardiac involvement occurs. The two most common subtypes leading to cardiomyopathy - AL and ATTR amyloidosis - differ substantially in terms of diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis. Retrospective studies have shown that musculoskeletal manifestations such as carpal tunnel syndrome, stenosing tenosynovitis, Dupuytren's contracture, or tendon ruptures often occur years before the diagnosis of cardiac amyloidosis and may serve as early clinical markers. A risk-adapted, targeted histopathological work-up

[Exercise therapy in the treatment of chronic back pain. An integral part of interdisciplinary therapy].

Chronic low back pain requires interdisciplinary and biopsychosocial treatment. Apart from the medical, psychological, and physiotherapeutic aspects of therapy, exercise therapy is an important component. Together with"work hardening," it represents the elements for reconditioning. The isolated effect is scientifically difficult to specify with the available data, but in most analytical studies, exercise therapy is an important component in an interdisciplinary setting. A nonspecific, diversified training program is superior to exercise solely of the trunk muscles. The primary tasks are to rec
