Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is thought to develop as a result of dysregulation of the immune response to normal gut flora in a genetically susceptible host. Ten cases of the pronounced acute nephritic syndrome among patients aged 61 to 82 years are analyzed. It is apparent to the authors that the primary factors influencing this particular case of Tourette's Syndrome are psychological. The condition appeared to result from threatening environmental conditions causing repression. The repressed material manifested itself in multiple tics, echolalia and coprolalia. Late-onset preeclampsia (LOPE) is a major pregnancy complication characterized by hypertension and placental dysfunction, resolving only upon delivery. Here, we show that LOPE placentae undergo accelerated molecular aging, marked by telomere attrition, DNA damage, and trophoblast senescence. Using primary placental tissue and trophoblast organoids, we demonstrate oxidative stress as a driver of telomere shortening and angiogenic imbalance.
