Incidental Detection of Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma on 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT.

We present a case of an incidentally detected squamous cell carcinoma of the oropharynx on Ga-PSMA-11 PET. A 71-year-old man's condition was diagnosed as prostate carcinoma after a year of rising serum prostate-specific antigen. The staging Ga-PSMA PET/CT demonstrated focal radiotracer uptake in the prostate corresponding to his known primary prostate cancer. However, a PSMA-avid 3.4-cm mass was incidentally found in the right tongue base that was biopsied, confirming squamous cell carcinoma.

Exploring In Vivo Metal Chelation as an Approach for Pretargeted PET Imaging.

Pretargeted PET imaging has emerged as a leading strategy for tracking long-circulating agents such as antibodies and nanoparticle-drug delivery systems with short-lived isotopes. Compared to the conventional direct radiolabeling approach, pretargeting benefits from high sensitivity and spatial resolution of PET while minimizing radiation doses and nonspecific accumulation of radioactivity. In addition, it allows for long-term in vivo tracking possibilities. However, a pretargeting approach that can utilize readily available radionuclides as obtained from the generator/cyclotron without the ne

Rare Case of Penile Metastasis in Prostate Carcinoma Following Radical Prostatectomy on 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT.

Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) PET/CT has emerged as a sensitive and specific imaging modality for the detection and staging of prostate cancer that facilitates detection of locoregional recurrence as well as distant metastases more accurately compared with conventional imaging. Metastatic penile involvement from prostate adenocarcinoma is extremely uncommon and can be missed, highlighting the importance of careful image interpretation. Increasingly progressive PSMA uptake on follow-up is an important marker of disease progression. We present a case of 60-year-old man with carcinoma

Polyostotic Fibrous Dysplasia Mimicking Widespread Skeletal Metastases on 68 Ga-PSMA PET/CT and Demonstrating a Superscan Pattern on Bone Scintigraphy.

Fibrous dysplasia (FD) may demonstrate increased 68 Ga-PSMA uptake and mimic skeletal metastases in prostate cancer. We present a 63-year-old man with newly diagnosed prostate cancer who underwent 68 Ga-PSMA PET/CT for staging. Imaging revealed widespread skeletal uptake involving multiple regions, raising suspicion for diffuse metastatic disease. Bone scintigraphy demonstrated a superscan pattern. However, CT showed characteristic benign features, including ground-glass appearance, bone expansion, and preserved cortical integrity. Histopathologic examination confirmed fibrous dysplasia. This

The clinical utility of total-body [68 Ga]Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT in prostate cancer: identifying extra-regional bone metastases and informing treatment strategies.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Bone metastasis significantly impacts morbidity and mortality in prostate cancer patients, necessitating accurate detection and monitoring. Although [68 Ga]Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT imaging provides superior sensitivity compared with conventional imaging, the conventional field of view (CFOV; skull to proximal femur) obtained with short axial field of view (SAFOV) PET/CT scanners may underestimate the extent of disease. This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence and characteristics of bone metastases outside the CFOV scan range (distal to the proximal one-third of the femur) u

Beyond PSMA: The essential complementary role of MRI in staging prostate cancer with Low-PSMA expression phenotypes.

PURPOSE: While prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) is a highly sensitive modality for staging prostate cancer, a notable subset of patients presents with negative findings, leading to potential under-diagnosis. The incremental diagnostic value of multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) in this specific cohort remains poorly defined. This study aimed to evaluate the added value of mpMRI in newly diagnosed prostate cancer patients with negative PSMA PET/CT results and to identify patient characteristics that predict this

Staging of prostate Cancer with ultra-fast PSMA-PET scans enhanced by AI.

PURPOSE: PSMA-PET is a reference standard examination for patients with prostate cancer, but even using recently introduced digital PET detectors image acquisition with standard field-of-view scanners is still in the range of 20 min. This may cause limited access to examination slots because of the growing demand for PSMA-PET. Ultra-fast PSMA-PET may enhance throughput but comes at the cost of poor image quality. The aim of this manuscript is to evaluate the accuracy of AI-enhanced ultra-fast PSMA-PET for staging of patients with prostate cancer. METHODS: A total number of 357 whole-body [68G

Factors Predicting Metastatic Disease in 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET-Positive Osseous Lesions in Prostate Cancer.

Bone is the most common site of distant metastatic spread in prostate adenocarcinoma. Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) uptake has been described in both benign and malignant bone lesions, which can lead to false-positive findings on 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET for osseous prostate cancer metastases and improve bone uptake interpretation using semiquantitative metrics. Methods: Fifty-six prostate cancer patients (18 before prostatectomy and 38 with biochemical recurrence) who underwent 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/MRI or P

Incidental Detection of Splenic Hemangioma on 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT.

A 73-year-old man underwent a Ga-PSMA-HBED-CC 11 PET/CT for evaluation of rising PSA in the context of previous radical retropubic prostatectomy and salvage radiotherapy for prostatic adenocarcinoma. There was no definite PSMA avid recurrence in the prostatic bed. Intense PSMA avid uptake was seen in the anterior aspect of the spleen. Further characterization with multiplanar multisequence pre- and post-IV contrast MRI of the upper abdomen with arterial, portal venous, and delayed phase acquisitions revealed a lesion with appearances consistent with a splenic hemangioma.

Frusemide aids diagnostic interpretation of 68 Ga-PSMA positron emission tomography/CT in men with prostate cancer.

INTRODUCTION: 68 Ga-PSMA positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET/CT) is useful for both staging and assessment of biochemical relapse in men with prostate cancer. Renal excretion of 68 Ga-PSMA can lead to difficulties in scan interpretation, particularly in the pelvis. We evaluated if intravenous Frusemide at the time of 68 Ga-PSMA injection reduces excreted activity artefact and improves diagnostic certainty. METHODS: Sixty-two men with prostate cancer undergoing clinically indicated 68 Ga-PSMA PET/CT were prospectively included, 30 men receiving Frusemide at the time of radiot

Structure-Tailored Surface Oxide on Cu-Ga Intermetallics Enhances CO2 Reduction Selectivity to Methanol at Ultralow Potential.

Electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (eCO2 RR) is performed on two intermetallic compounds formed by copper and gallium metals (CuGa2 and Cu9 Ga4 ). Among them, CuGa2 selectively converts CO2 to methanol with remarkable Faradaic efficiency of 77.26% at an extremely low potential of -0.3 V vs RHE. The high performance of CuGa2 compared to Cu9 Ga4 is driven by its unique 2D structure, which retains surface and subsurface oxide species (Ga2 O3 ) even in the reduction atmosphere. The Ga2 O3 species is mapped by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and X-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS) tec
