A revision of the typology of male cross-gender identity was carried out by means of formalized, easily replicable methods. OBJECTIVES: Human papillomavirus (HPV) types 6 and 11 are most commonly associated with ano-genital warts. There are few data on the sero-epidemiology of HPV6 and HPV11 among homosexual men.
METHODS: Behavioural data and sera for antibodies to HPV6 and HPV11 capsid protein L1 were collected annually for 1427 HIV negative and 245 HIV positive homosexual men. For HIV negative men, a combined variable, HPV6/11, was created (HPV 6 and/or 11) to analyse predictors of seroprevalence and seroincidence.

OBJECTIVE: To describe the profile of cases of mpox in the city of Rio de Janeiro between June and November 2022.
METHODS: This was a descriptive study of secondary data obtained from mpox notification forms. Socioeconomic, clinical and spatial data were analyzed.
RESULTS: Of the 928 cases, 93.7% were male, 85.0% cisgender male, 65.6% homosexual, 41.8% between 30 and 39 years old, and 41.0% were of White race/skin color. In this study we examined the characteristics of 60 subjects (49 M and 11 F, average age 32.3) out of 195 post-exposure pharmacological prophylaxis (PEP) to HIV, taken in our hospital from 2001 to 2008. BACKGROUND: The hepatitis B virus (HBV) immunisation policy in the United Kingdom includes offering vaccines selectively to those at risk by sexual contact. Among genitourinary medicine (GUM) clinic attenders, homosexual men are offered vaccine, but estimates of the vaccine uptake are required to monitor policy and estimate the possible impact on transmission; heterosexuals are not routinely offered vaccine, but this policy might change if the prevalence was found to be high.
