Adenomatoid odontogenic tumor is a benign epithelial tumor which mainly affects young women. It usually occurs in the anterior portion of the upper jaw. Diagnosis can be clinically suspected in patients with cyst formation associated with retained tooth but histopathological confirmation is required. This study involved two patients aged 13 and 37 years, with no previous history, presenting after the occurrence of a swelling on the jaw and mandible. Anatomopathological examination of these lesions showed adenomatoid odontogenic tumor. This study highlights the anatomoclinical features, outcome

Adenomatoid tumors are benign neoplasms of mesothelial origin, which involve the feminine and masculine genital tracts. They are more generally casually discovered. Our study presents an adenomatoid tumour, of cystic shape, which enables discussion of the histogenesis of this tumour and enlightenment of differential diagnoses which can at times result in an incorrect malignant diagnosis.

A case of adenomatoid tumor presenting as a mass in the anterior mediastinum is described. The patient was a 56-year-old woman with left side chest wall pain who showed a mediastinal mass on chest x-ray and CT scans. Thorough clinical and radiographic examination did not reveal any evidence of tumor elsewhere. At surgery, the tumor was found adjacent to the anterior pericardial reflection. Grossly, the tumor measured 5.5 x 5.5 x 3 cm and showed a homogeneous cut surface with numerous cystic structures that varied from 0.5 to 1.5 cm in greatest diameter. Histologic examination showed numerous c

The adenomatoid odontogenic tumor is a benign bony lesion of the maxilla and mandible, it represents 3% of all odontogenic tumors, and is more frequent in females in their second decade of life. It affects mainly the maxilla associated with embedded teeth, often canines, but it also occurs in the mandible, especially in the anterior region. It originates from epithelial cells of the dental lamina complex system, but the histologic feature with gland-like structures explains its name and classification. Clinically silent, it is often discovered during radiological examinations as a well defined

Adenomatoid tumor is a common paratesticular neoplasm which may occur at any age and can involve the epididymis, testes, spermatic cord, and ejaculatory duct. Sarcoidosis of the genitourinary tract is exceedingly rare with approximately 30 cases of epididymal sarcoidosis reported. We report the first case of an epididymal adenomatoid tumor involved by classic sarcoid granulomata in a patient with systemic sarcoidosis.

Display of the clinico-pathological correlation of three cases of adenomatoid tumour (AT) of the male reproductive organs. From the anatomo-pathological point of view we observe the architectural patterns traditionally described, and discuss their controversial mesothelial origin. From the clinical point of view we highlight the benignancy of the process, often underdiagnosed, as well as its association to post-inflammatory hydrocele in one case. Such coincidence could favour the assumption that inflammation plays a decisive role on the production mechanism.

Adenomatoid tumor is a rare tumor of mesothelial origin, usually arising in the epididymis. It is the most common paratesticular tumor of middle-aged men. A rare variant of adenomatoid tumor is leiomyoadenomatoid tumor which is characterized by prominent spindle cell myoblastic and myofibroblastic proliferation in the background of an adenomatoid tumor with tubular spaces lined by mesothelial cells. In some cases, the spindle cell component obscures the adenomatoid tumor component, complicating accurate diagnosis. Here, we report two cases of paratesticular leiomyoadenomatoid tumor in 28-year-

We report a case of an adenomatoid tumor of particular location within the pleura, incidentally discovered on a pulmonary lobectomy specimen after surgical resection of a pulmonary squamous cell carcinoma. This adenomatoid tumor appeared as a unique pleural mass located away from the primary carcinoma and consisted of a cellular proliferation organised in tubes and sheets. Adenomatoid tumors are considered as benign tumors of mesothelial nature. Their morphological and immunohistochemical features in association with their location to the pleura, warrant a precise analysis to eliminate maligna

Adenomatoid odontogenic tumor commonly occurs in association with the crowns of unerupted teeth. An extrafollicular variant, radiographically in relationship to root apices, has been reported. However, clear association with the root apices at surgery has not been demonstrated. We report a case of adenomatoid odontogenic tumor in the anterior mandible in a 21-year-old woman that presented radiographically at the root apices and at surgery as a radicular cyst. We believe this represents the first reported case of adenomatoid odontogenic tumor presenting as periapical disease both clinically and

Two cases of adenomatoid odontogenic tumor have been presented, along with a review of the literature. One tumor had a rather typical presentation, occurring in a 12-year-old in association with an impacted canine tooth. Subsequent electron microscopic evaluation of this case provided corroboration of other recently published findings. In this case there was a striking accumulation of what could have been secretory granules at the pole of the cell nearest a "duct-like" space. This cell had ultrastructural characteristics in common with a preameloblast. The second case occurred in a more unusua

Adenomatoid tumor is an uncommon benign mesothelial neoplasm, usually localized in the epididymis. It is the most common paratesticular tumor of middle-aged patients (average age of clinical presentation: 36 years). However, these tumors in pediatric and pubertal patients are extremely rare. Due to their rarity, we present a case of adenomatoid tumor of the tail of the epididymis in a 16-year-old patient. After systematic research of the current literature, we did not find another case report of epididymal adenomatoid tumor in a male patient aged 16 years old or less. This notice and our conce

OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to describe the radiographic features of calcifying cystic odontogenic tumors (CCOTs) and adenomatoid odontogenic tumors (AOTs) and to compare the radiographic findings for these 2 lesions.
STUDY DESIGN: We retrospectively reviewed radiographs of CCOTs and AOTs. Location, border, relationship of the lesion with the impacted tooth, calcification patterns, tooth displacement, and root resorption were evaluated.
RESULTS: Nine CCOTs and 8 AOTs were reviewed. Most CCOTs and AOTs had smooth borders. Three CCOTs and 7 AOTs enclosed impacted teeth. Of these case

Adenomatoid tumors are rare benign mesothelial neoplasm involving the Para testicular region, mostly the tail of the epididymis. However, it may occur in some other parts of the genitourinary system. A definitive diagnosis of the tumor is very important because it is very difficult to differentiate it clinically and radiologically from the other intrascrotal tumors. Herein, we report a case of adenomatoid tumor of the epididymis in a 60-year old male patient, with its clinical data and review of the literature.

The adenomatoid odontogenic tumor (AOT) is a benign, nonneoplastic (hamartomatous) lesion with a slow progressing growth. It occurs in both intraosseous and peripheral forms. This paper reports the case of a female aged 16 years who presented with a swelling in anterior maxilla; canine was missing, and a supernumerary tooth was present in the mid line. Radiology revealed a well-defined radiolucent area associated with impacted canine and root resorption of adjacent teeth, which was diagnosed histopathologically as AOT. The patient was treated surgically and later rehabilitated with fixed prost

BACKGROUND: Adenomatoid tumors are regarded as distinctive benign mesothelial neoplasms of the paratesticular region, most commonly occuring at the tail of the epididymidis.Because of its rarity, the clinical and histopathological aspects are discussed.
CASE PRESENTATION: We present the case of a 41-year-old patient with an adenomatoid tumour located in the tail of the left epididymis that referred to our department with gradual enlarged intrascrotal mass. The diagnosis was achieved by echography, and was confirmed by surgical excision and histological analysis.
CONCLUSION: Due to its low in
