Remote patient monitoring system combining hardware and artificial intelligence based software.

This study details the development of a remote patient monitoring system with a primary focus on a novel, customized Deep Neural Network (DNN) for arrhythmia detection. The system integrates hardware for real-time data collection from biomedical sensors, where IoT-based sensor data is collected and encrypted in a central database for subsequent analysis. The novelty of the work lies in the proposed AI-based software component rather than the hardware assembly, which utilizes accessible components. The developed system is designed to function as a decision support system for healthcare personne

Open-Source Remote Gait Analysis: A Post-Surgery Patient Monitoring Application.

Critical to digital medicine is the promise of improved patient monitoring to allow assessment and personalized intervention to occur in real-time. Wearable sensor-enabled observation of physiological data in free-living conditions is integral to this vision. However, few open-source algorithms have been developed for analyzing and interpreting these data which slows development and the realization of digital medicine. There is clear need for open-source tools that analyze free-living wearable sensor data and particularly for gait analysis, which provides important biomarkers in multiple clini

Remote clinic/patient monitoring for multicenter trials. Optic Neuritis Study Group.

Clinic monitoring is essential for the quality control of multicenter clinical trials. In studies of eye diseases, certification of visual function testers is integral to such monitoring. Routine site visits, while useful for evaluating clinic performance and certifying visual function testers, are expensive and not suitable for every study. As part of the Longitudinal Optic Neuritis Study (LONS), a follow-up study of the patients entered into the Optic Neuritis Treatment Trial (ONTT), we established a central system for clinic monitoring and visual function tester certification in lieu of per

[Aspects of the use of medical devices for remote patient monitoring].

In the Russian Federation, it is legally determined that telemedicine technologies are considered as any actions with any data obtained during a remote communication between doctors (councils, consultations), remote medical patient monitoring, including using medical devices. Medical devices with a function of remote transmission of the measurement data are used to detect diseases in some workers that impede their duty performance. There are hardly any publications on the experience of using such devices in other aspects of medical care. The issue of medical devices enhanced with remote data t

A digital, patient-centered carepath for cardiac surgical care with continuous remote patient monitoring.

Postoperative complications and readmissions remain common after cardiac surgery, and intermittent manual vital-sign checks leave patients unmonitored for much of the recovery period. We implemented a phygital care pathway combining Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols, and 21-day continuous remote monitoring (heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, oxygen saturation) with daily review and escalation to a cardiac surgeon when indicated. Quality of Recovery (QoR-15) was assessed on preoperative days -1 and postoperative days 3 and 7, and patient-reported experienc

Smartphone-Based Light Detection and Ranging for Remote Patient Evaluation and Monitoring.

LIDAR (from "light detection and ranging" or "laser imaging, detection, and ranging") is an evolving three-dimensional scanning technology with historical applications in various fields. However, the applicability of LIDAR in the field of medicine has mostly not been examined thus far. Here, we review the basic principles governing LIDAR and its potential to be used in three notable use cases in the context of remote patient monitoring: geriatric fall prevention, postoperative recovery monitoring, and home safety assessment. For assisting geriatric populations, LIDAR can create 3D renderings o

Low-cost remote patient monitoring system based on reduced platform computer technology.

Telemedicine is a well-accepted method providing healthcare benefits to people over long distances. However, in normal telemedicine practices, dedicated complex hardware and network backbones for data collection and communication make the system unintelligible to the common man. Centralization of telemedicine units also makes it accessible only to the immediate surrounding community. In an attempt to address these issues, a study aimed at developing a low-cost remote patient monitoring (RPM) system based on reduced platform computer technology has been carried out. The main focus of the work w
