Construction and validation of a prognostic nutritional index-based nomogram for predicting pathological complete response in breast cancer: a two-center study of 1,170 patients.

BACKGROUND: Pathological complete response (pCR) after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) is associated with favorable outcomes in breast cancer patients. Identifying reliable predictors for pCR can assist in selecting patients who will derive the most benefit from NAC. The prognostic nutritional index (PNI) serves as an indicator of nutritional status and systemic immune competence. It has emerged as a prognostic biomarker in several malignancies; however, its predictive value for pCR in breast cancer remains uncertain. The objective of this study is to assess the predictive value of pretreatment

Neoadjuvant chemo-radiotherapy combined with immune checkpoint inhibitors: A case report of rectal small-cell undifferentiated carcinoma achieved pathological complete response.

RATIONALE: Small-cell undifferentiated carcinoma (SmCC), as an aggressive malignancy, are most commonly arising in lung. Extrapulmonary SmCC is rare. It was reported that SmCC accounts for only 0.1% to 0.2% of colorectal cancers. Currently, no standard treatment regimen is recommended. Here, we presented a case of SmCC from rectum. The patient achieved pathological complete response (pCR) after surgery, which makes us feel gratified, and we are also eager to share this successful case with more peers to provide more references for clinical decision-making. PATIENT CONCERNS: A 32-year-old male

Sarcoidosis-like reaction after neoadjuvant pembrolizumab combined with chemotherapy mimicking disease progression of NSCLC induced encouraging discovery of pathological complete response.

Neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy has demonstrated improved efficacy and prognosis in stage IIa-IIIb patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Drug-induced sarcoidosis-like reaction (DISR), an autoimmune reaction, has been reported as a type of immune-related adverse event that may mimic disease progression. Here, we report the case of patient with NSCLC who developed DISR during neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy and finally achieved pathological complete response after surgery.

Multimodal radiomics for early prediction of pathological complete response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in breast cancer: integration of amide proton transfer weighted imaging in radiomics.

BACKGROUND: Early prediction of pathological complete response (pCR) to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) in breast cancer remains challenging. Traditional imaging lacks molecular sensitivity, while single-modality radiomics may miss tumor microenvironment dynamics. Integrating amide proton transfer-weighted imaging (APTWI)-quantifying protein levels linked to chemo-response-into multimodal radiomics may enable precise early pCR prediction, guiding personalized therapy. This study aims to develop and validate a multimodal radiomics model, integrating amide proton transfer-weighted imaging (APTWI)

Clinicopathological Predictors of Pathological Complete Response in HER2-Positive Breast Cancer Treated with Pertuzumab-Based Neoadjuvant Therapy: A Multicenter Real-World Study.

Background and Objectives: Neoadjuvant systemic therapy incorporating dual HER2 blockade has significantly improved outcomes in patients with HER2-positive breast cancer. Pathological complete response (pCR) is an important surrogate endpoint associated with improved long-term survival. However, substantial heterogeneity in treatment response persists, and identifying factors associated with pCR remains clinically relevant. In addition to established clinicopathological variables, systemic inflammation-based biomarkers have recently been investigated as potential predictors of treatment respon
