A Case Report of a Complete Removable Denture Designed to Restore Function in a Patient With Severe Resorption of the Mandibular Alveolar Ridge Using the Neutral Zone and Flange Techniques.

Edentulous patients with severe mandibular alveolar ridge resorption struggle with denture stability, which often reduces their quality of life due to mucosal pain and food debris retention. When the inferior alveolar canal is extremely close to the alveolar crest, conventional dentures risk causing severe pain and sensory abnormalities by compressing the inferior alveolar nerve. Thus, conventional fabrication methods face clinical limitations. To stabilize a mandibular complete denture in such cases, it is highly effective to record the dynamics of the denture space and fabricate a prosthesis

Comparing the trueness of 3D printing and conventional casting for removable partial denture metal framework fabrication in different mandibular major connectors designs: An in vitro study.

STATEMENT OF PROBLEM: To ensure long-term stability and performance, removable partial dentures (RPDs) must be fitted precisely. Although 3-dimensional (3D) printing has been widely used, studies comparing various methods of manufacturing and designs for mandibular removable partial denture (RPD) frameworks are lacking. PURPOSE: The aim of this in vitro study was to compare the trueness of RPD metal frameworks with 2 different major connector design types (lingual bar and lingual plate) fabricated with direct and indirect metal 3D printing with those fabricated with the conventional lost wax

A three-dimensional finite element analysis of mechanical function for 4 removable partial denture designs with 3 framework materials: CoCr, Ti-6Al-4V alloy and PEEK.

Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) is a new material used for the frameworks of removable partial dentures (RPD). The questions whether the PEEK framework has similar stress distribution on oral tissue and displacement under masticatory forces as titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) or cobalt-chromium alloy (CoCr) remain unclear and worth exploring. A patient's intraoral data were obtained via CBCT and master model scan. Four RPDs were designed by 3Shape dental system, and the models were processed by three-dimensional finite element analysis. Among three materials tested, PEEK has the lowest maximum von Mises

CAD-CAM for removable partial denture fabrication after marginal mandibulectomy based on a well-adjusted pre-existing denture.

This clinical report summarizes a workflow that introduces two approaches for fabricating a metal framework removable partial denture for a marginal mandibulectomy patient. First, the pre-existing denture was adjusted according to the piezographic technique to determine the optimal configuration for adhering to the available denture space. Second, computer-aided design-computer-aided manufacturing (CAD-CAM) technology was used to fabricate a new removable partial denture by digitally scanning the oral condition and the well-adjusted denture and then using the obtained data to design and fabric

Comparative study of maxillary complete dentures constructed of metal base and metal structure framework.

A removable denture designed using a three-dimensional cast metal framework (hereafter referred to as the 'structurally designed' denture) could extend denture longevity because it is unbreakable and easy to adjust. The aim of the present clinical study was to compare two types of maxillary removable dentures: conventional dentures and structurally designed denture. One edentulous and five partially dentate patients were fitted with two maxillary dentures made from the same impression and same occlusal relationship. About 20 days after delivery of the denture, masticatory analysis was conducte

[Exchangeable system synthetics-rider at the bridge-joint prosthetics].

In order to improve the prosthetic supply, a clam-on system for bar-joint-mandibular dentures has been developed. When replacing clamp No. 1 by clamp No. 2 both the vertical translation and the frontal rotation of the prosthesis are ensured over a longer time of function. Placing at disposal ready-made plastic bar-joint elements facilitates the clinic and the laboratory technology for making the bar-joint-mandibular denture.
