AIM: This cross-sectional study aimed to investigate the association between caries risk and the 2D:4D ratio, a potential marker of prenatal hormone exposure, among children aged 5-12 years.
METHODS: A total of 250 children were examined. Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is a widespread type of hair loss that affects both males and females. Advanced age and family history of AGA are well-established risk factors for developing AGA. The second to fourth digit ratio (2D:4D) is the ratio between the length of the index and ring fingers. This ratio has been utilized as a predictor for multiple hyperandrogenism-related medical conditions. More recently, 2D:4D was investigated as a predictor for AGA. This article aims to investigate the evidence supporting the use of 2D:4D as a predictor of AGA, and address areas of future research.

From January 1990 to December 1998, 631 consecutive single-digit replantations were reviewed retrospectively to determine the essential number of vascular anastomoses and the artery-to-vein ratio for successful finger replantation. The correlations between the number and the ratio of anastomosed vessels and the survival rate were examined according to the amputated digital levels, and all of the correlated results were compared with each other statistically. In zone I, the survival rate of the digits with a vein repaired was higher than that of digits treated with the external bleeding method.
