Odor impact patterns and health risks of various enterprises in the rubber product manufacturing industry.

The rubber product manufacturing (RPM) industry generates a large number of odor complaints because persistent and distinctive volatile compounds are released during the associated processes. Such compounds represent a nuisance and may pose health risks to nearby residents. Extensive monitoring and sampling identified 146 volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from 20 enterprises across 6 subcategories of the RPM industry. Their odor impact patterns and health risks were assessed via dispersion modeling from both horizontal and vertical perspectives. Nine out of the 20 enterprises were found to cau

Non-Formaldehyde, Bio-Based Adhesives for Use in Wood-Based Panel Manufacturing Industry-A Review.

There is a strong need to develop and implement appropriate alternatives to replace formaldehyde-based adhesive systems, such as phenol-formaldehyde, in the industry of wood-based panels (WBPs). This is due to the toxicity and volatility of formaldehyde and restrictions on its use associated with some formaldehyde-based adhesives. Additionally, the current pressure to reduce the dependence on polymeric materials, including adhesives, from petrochemical-based sources has led to increased interest in bio-based adhesives, which, in some cases, already provide acceptable properties to the end-prod

Breathing zone concentration variations in the reinforced plastic industry; field measurements in a boat manufacturing plant.

Breathing zone samples are used to estimate worker exposure to airborne contaminants by collecting air from a vaguely defined zone surrounding the head. This zone is considered to have an airborne chemical concentration equivalent to the concentration breathed by the worker. It has been generally assumed that vapor is uniformly mixed in the breathing zone; therefore, samplers are placed on either lapel or on the chest of the worker. An extensive field investigation in a boat manufacturing plant was conducted where styrene air concentrations were measured by mounting four 3M one-stage diffusion

Multi-mode resource-constrained project scheduling problem considering man-hour budget for automotive manufacturing in Industry 5.0.

Motivated by the Industry 5.0 paradigm, the introduction of human-robot collaboration (HRC) into automotive body-in-white (BIW) welding islands offers immense flexibility, yet it introduces a critical challenge: balancing production efficiency with strict non-renewable labor costs. To address this challenge, this study investigates a multi-mode resource-constrained project scheduling problem (MRCPSP) under rigid man-hour budgets. This paper proposes a tri-stage adaptive simulated annealing (TS-ASA) framework to resolve the structural budget deadlocks inherent in the optimization problem. The f
