BACKGROUND: Paget's disease (PD) of the breast is an uncommon condition traditionally treated with mastectomy. To assess the natural history and treatment options in PD we have reviewed the experience at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI).
STUDY DESIGN: The medical records of patients treated for PD at RPCI between 1963 and 1996 were reviewed.

Angiosarcoma is a rare and highly malignant mesenchymal tumor. Similar to other soft tissue sarcomas, it may arise in any organ, although it occurs more frequently within skin structures like the scalp. A 34 years unmarried female was admitted with an ulcerated foul smelling growth in her right breast. On examination the fungating mass measured 17.5 cm x 15 cm in central and lower part of right breast involving the nipple and areola. BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: The ACOSOGZ0011 trial found that overall survival (OS) for patients with 1-2 positive nodes undergoing sentinel lymph node biopsy-alone (SLNB) was noninferior to completion axillary lymph node dissection (ALND), but excluded patients undergoing mastectomy. Our study examined patterns of ALND and its relationship with OS for SLNB-positive patients undergoing mastectomy.

From March 1985 to May 1988, a total of 32 breast repairs in 21 patients following mastectomy were performed in our hospital. There are many indications for subcutaneous mastectomy with immediate reconstruction using silicone implants because of the relatively simple technique. The risk of malignant change in simple mastopathy is minimal. However, the inadequacy of an operative technique that leaves behind unknown quantities of breast tissue and the frequently bad cosmetic results make all indications appear doubtful. We report three cases of solitary fibrous tumor of the breast. The patients were adult to elderly women and complained of a slowly but relentless growing lump. In this trial, 381 women with invasive breast cancer in histopathologic stage I had sector resection with meticulous control for complete excision of local disease plus axillary dissection.
