Tubulo-papillary apocrine adenoma (TAA) is a very rare sweat gland tumor. TAA in association with syringocystadenoma papilliferum (SCP) is exceptional. A 2-year-old Tunisian child developed a mixed tumor on the scalp: TAA in association with SCP. Histologically, the tumor consisted of dilated duct-like areas with some apocrine gland-like areas. The superficial part of the tumor was connected to the epidermis and showed the characteristics of SCP. The characteristics and differences in histopathologic and immunohistochemical findings in this mixed tumor are described.

We report a rare and unusual case of an Abdominal pregnancy that was delivered successfully at term. It is the first documented case in the local literature in almost 30 years. What makes it even more exceptional is that despite the high mortality associated with the condition, both mother and baby survived the ordeal. She subsequently delivered another child, 2 years later by an elective lower segment caesarean section and had a tubal ligation performed concomitantly. A review of the topic and its management is also presented.

A 1-month-old infant presented with a typical pattern of pyloric stenosis but US revealed an intense hyperechogenicity of the thickened pyloric muscle. Cholecystitis and pancreatitis were also present in this child. Familial hyperchylomicronemia was detected. Portosystemic shunts are well established methods of avoiding recurrent hemorrhage from esophageal varices. Hemodynamic aspects and clinical results suggest that distal splenorenal shunts should be preferred over non-selective shunts. The functional capacity of the liver is crucial for any type of shunt. In patients with Child C cirrhosis, mortality is known to be particularly high following an emergency shunt so that, this procedure is recommended only as a rescue operation. Although prophylactic shunting decreases the risk of bleeding from varices, it leads to higher liver-related mortality.

The authors report a case of an osteoid osteoma of the femoral neck in a child, aged 3 1/2. This is a benign bone tumor, frequently painful with variable relief obtained with salicylates. Clinical latency is not exceptional in children, owing to the delayed diagnosis. When located in the femoral neck it is usually discovered after a delay, owing to the misleading clinical signs and the frequently normal standard x rays. The only treatment for cure is the excision of the nidus, which is usually difficult because of the anatomical location and the perioperative adjustment.
