Assessing the effectiveness of newborn resuscitation training and skill retention program on neonatal outcomes in Madhesh Province, Nepal.

Intrapartum events leading to asphyxia at birth are among the leading causes of neonatal morbidity and mortality in Nepal. In response to this, the Nepal Ministry of Health and Population adopted Helping Babies Breathe (HBB) as a tool to improve neonatal resuscitation competencies. The effectiveness of HBB trainings has been well established. However, challenges remain in maintaining skills over time. Safa Sunaulo Nepal (SSN), with support from Latter-day Saint Charities (LDS Charities) designed an initiative for scaling up newborn resuscitation training and skills maintenance over time. This

Bioengineered 3D Human Trabecular Meshwork Models for Outflow Physiology and Glaucoma Research.

Primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) is one of the leading causes of irreversible blindness and is associated with dysfunction of the trabecular meshwork (TM), a three-dimensional (3D) structure that regulates aqueous humor outflow and, consequently, intraocular pressure (IOP). IOP is the only modifiable factor for glaucoma. Outflow facility is the inverse of aqueous humor outflow resistance caused by the presence of the TM and adjacent tissues, and reflects the TM's central role in IOP control, representing the most physiologically relevant measure of human trabecular meshwork (HTM) function. Unraveling the hidden expenses of free delivery services: a cross-sectional analysis of the public health facilities of the Harari Region, Ethiopia.

BACKGROUND: Facility-based delivery services are a critical intervention for improving maternal and infant health and reducing mortalities. However, in Ethiopia, high costs have been reported to hinder access to care, particularly for low-income families. Despite the importance of institutional delivery services, little is known about the true cost of using these services in public health facilities. As such, there is a pressing need for evidence to shed light on this issue and identify potential solutions to improve access to care for all women and infants in need. This study aims to estimate

Psychological heterogeneity and residential demands in early-stage aging: evidence from a human-environment systems framework.

BACKGROUND: Research on home-based eldercare has increasingly moved beyond physical safety and accessibility to consider psychological wellbeing and everyday activity. However, older adults are still often treated as a homogeneous group. Less is known about how different psychological profiles are associated with residential preferences, activity patterns, and perceived environmental support among early-stage aging adults. METHODS: This study focused on early-stage older adults and applied a human-environment systems framework to examine the relationships among psychological characteristics,
